At Hope Rescue, we believe every dog deserves to feel safe, loved and valued no matter where they’ve come from. As an Animal Welfare Assistant, you’ll play a hands-on role in making that happen every single day.
This is more than a job. It’s a chance to transform lives through compassion, care, and commitment.
What you’ll be doing
- Providing daily care, enrichment and training to rescue dogs, helping them get ready for their forever homes.
- Keeping kennels clean, safe and welcoming for every dog and visitor.
- Feeding, grooming, exercising and building trust with the dogs in your care.
- Monitoring health and behaviour, and ensuring all records are accurate and up to date.
- Supporting our adoption and communications teams with photos, videos and updates to help each dog find the perfect match.
- Delivering great experiences to volunteers, adopters and visitors — reflecting our values of kindness, fairness, integrity and advocacy in everything you do.
About you
You’ll have:
- Experience working or volunteering with animals (preferably dogs).
- A genuine passion for animal welfare and teamwork.
- A full manual driving licence and access to transport.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A proactive, flexible and resilient approach — no two days are the same!
A qualification in Animal Care or Behaviour is an advantage, but not essential. Heart and dedication matter most.
Why Hope Rescue?
You’ll be joining a purpose driven charity that’s making a real difference to the lives of hundreds of dogs each year. We’re a small but mighty team, known for our compassion, honesty and commitment to giving every animal the best possible care.
You’ll receive full training, support, and the chance to work in a close-knit team that truly values your wellbeing and contribution.
If you’ve got the passion, heart and drive to help dogs in need, we’d love to hear from you.
