Reporting to one of our content team leads, you will be responsible for the Art & Design learning resources for Reception to Year 6. Working closely with other content creators, curriculum specialists, editors, designers, video editors and digital experts, you will use your teaching experience and subject knowledge to create high-quality, inspirational materials for teachers and pupils.

To succeed in the role you will need to be quick to pick up the required digital publishing and writing skills and not be afraid of new software and technology.

You will receive training on using our publishing platform, writing for an online audience and script writing as well as additional on-boarding training.

You will need to have good commercial awareness and embrace working as a member of a team with colleagues from other disciplines such as designers and marketeers and be willing to present subject-specific CPD webinars.

What you will do

Under the guidance of your team lead, you will:
  • Create and update learning resources: Plan, write, and develop high-quality lessons and associated materials with input from curriculum, video, and design teams.
  • Maintain content quality: Regularly review and refresh resources to ensure they stay relevant, accurate, and engaging.
  • Stay current: Monitor developments in education policy and curriculum guidance.
  • Collaborate: Work with colleagues across marketing, customer support, design, and video.
  • Manage projects: Oversee your content from conception to completion, meeting deadlines and delivery expectations.
  • Engage with teachers: Respond to subject-specific queries from our customers and present CPD webinars.

You will have:

Essential
  • Several year’s experience of teaching in a primary school, preferably as a subject leader in Art & design.
  • Proven experience in planning high-quality lessons for primary children.
  • Proven ability to be creative and aspirational in your teaching ideas.
  • Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • A keen eye for detail and exceptional written skills.
  • An excellent command of written English and grammar. You will be tested on your grammar and spelling skills as part of the recruitment process.
  • An interest and understanding of the digital world. Be a ‘digital native’.
  • A willingness to learn about, implement and ensure best practices for writing and publishing digital content, including video content.
  • A proactive attitude and well-organised mindset.
  • Strong motivation to hit deadlines and deliver high-quality work on time.
  • The ambition to transition to a new career within a commercial publishing business.

Desired
  • A degree in Art & design.
  • Experience in digital and educational publishing.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office/G-Suite.

  • Able to effectively communicate both internally and externally, orally and in writing.
  • A keen and committed team player.
  • Commercially-minded and able to prioritise.
  • A calm, well-organised person who uses their planning skills and initiative to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Hungry for success but also likes to have fun at work.
  • Adaptable and open-minded.

What we can offer

  • Competitive salary.
  • An opportunity to use your teaching experience in a new career that still makes a difference to teachers and children.
  • Autonomous responsibility in a team committed to ensuring each other’s success.
  • 25 days annual leave (pro-rata), with bank holidays on top.
