WILD are the largest specialist young parents' charity in the UK, working with over 20,000 parents and children since 1992, providing a whole family service for young mums, dads and their children across Cornwall. We deliver services, collaborate with local leaders and practitioners and work towards influencing national policy to disrupt the pattern of intergenerational trauma and change the narrative of young parents and their children.
Babies of young parents often experience complex disadvantage with higher risk of developmental delay, early childhood trauma, abuse and harm, infant mortality and illness. This can repeat the patterns of their parents’ own childhood experiences.
Our vision: A fair start for young parent families.
Our mission: We will work together with young parent families - to grow love and resilience, to tell their stories, and to build a society that cares about their future.
Our Values: Equality, integrity, kindness, resourcefulness and respect.
