About the Role:
Sheffield Mind is looking for a group of volunteers to share reception duties.
This is a very important role within the organisation and one which is both challenging and enjoyable. As a receptionist you’ll be at the heart of our organisation, welcoming our users and partners to the building.
Sheffield Mind’s receptionist works closely with everyone at Sheffield Mind, to provide an effective and responsive front of the house service.
Working Hours:
We would like a commitment of at least 4 hours a day, once a week.

Main duties and Responsibilities:
Providing a friendly and professional reception service:
· Welcome visitors by creating an inviting and inclusive atmosphere.
· Inform staff of visitor’s arrival.
- Respond to enquiries via telephone and in person.
- Offer tea/coffee to visitors.
- Ensure that the reception area is tidy and welcoming.
- Ensure that the merchandise on sale in reception is well-stocked and nicely presented.
- Take and process payments for therapy sessions and merchandise.
Other duties
· Work to Sheffield Mind policies and procedures.
· Actively promote and ensure good equal opportunities practice and work in an anti-oppressive manner.
· Maintain confidentiality in accordance with Sheffield Mind policies.
Person specification:
Experience:
- Good understanding of good customer service (Essential)
- Experience of working in a busy environment (Desirable)
Skills:
- Good communication skills – verbal and written (Essential)
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, Internet and email (Essential)
- Punctuality and reliability (Essential)
- Ability to work flexibly (Essential)
Knowledge:
- Understanding of the importance of confidentiality (Essential)
