Salary: £12.21 per hour
Contracts Zero Hours until end of October 2026.
We are seeking a Zero Hours Visitor Services Assistant to join our team, delivering a first-class visitor experience.
The post holder will be responsible for providing the highest standards of customer care welcoming visitors to the museum, assisting with the security, maintenance and cleanliness of the site, assisting with events and helping with the museum shop.
A basic awareness of health and safety and premises issues is
required, and you must be confident and comfortable with using computers and other technical equipment (e.g. tills). You should also have a genuine enthusiasm about Somerset’s history and heritage, and be keen to share this to inform and inspire our visitors.
Maximum flexibility, and the ability to work additional hours/overtime, sometimes at short notice, is essential.
The South West Heritage Trust is a charity which delivers a broad range of heritage services across Somerset and Devon. We are a growing organisation, founded on services that were previously delivered by Somerset and Devon County Councils. With a turnover exceeding £3 million, we manage and run three museums (including the Museum of Somerset), two Archives and Local Studies services and look after the historic environment in Somerset.
