About Us
Novara Media is an independent left-wing media organisation addressing the issues that are set to define the 21st century, from a crisis of capitalism to racism and climate change. We are funded almost entirely by our supporters’ donations and represent an alternative to the traditional billionaire owned media landscape.
We are hiring a skilled Video Producer to join our team. The role combines creative video production with technical expertise.

Key responsibilities:
  • Lead end-to-end video production, including filming and editing
  • Generate and develop original content ideas, both independently and collaboratively
  • Direct and coach on-camera talent
  • Coordinate with journalists to create compelling video content
  • Manage guest and contributor relationships
  • Maintain equipment and ensure safe handling
  • Shape and maintain brand consistency across video content
  • Collaborate with social media team on content strategy
  • Participate in team meetings and planning sessions
  • Ensure compliance with the IMPRESS Editorial Standards Code


The ideal candidate will have:
  • Proven experience as a self-shooting producer
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Premiere Pro and After Effects
  • Comprehensive understanding of video production workflow
  • Strong technical knowledge of video equipment and production techniques
  • Background in journalism, new media, or broadcasting
  • Expertise in social media video optimisation
  • Excellence in communication and team collaboration
  • Experience in script editing and talent direction
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively
  • Alignment with Novara Media's mission and values

Details
Location: The candidate will be expected to work in our London office. This is not a remote role.

Reports to: Deputy Head of Video

Contract: Permanent, full-time.

Hours: 32 hours per week. Novara Media is a four day week employer.

Pay: £34,112 per annum (NM flat living wage*)
