Details
UK Hose is growing fast, and we are looking for a Trade Counter Assistant to join our brand new Warrington branch.

This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the UK’s fastest-growing hydraulic hose businesses at a time of major investment. We are currently growing at around 50%, working with some of the best hydraulic hose, fittings and assembly products on the market, and continuing to invest in new tools, equipment and facilities across the business.

Based at our new Warrington branch, you will be the face of UK Hose for customers visiting or calling the trade counter, as well as making and assembling hydraulic hose kits and assemblies for our trade, OEM and customer supply orders. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role suited to someone who takes pride in great service, accuracy and quality workmanship.

Role Overview

As a Trade Counter Assistant, you will serve customers at the counter and manufacture hose assemblies to specification, making sure every customer gets the right product, advice and service.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Serving customers at the trade counter, face to face and over the phone, and helping them find the right hydraulic hose, fittings and equipment for their needs.
  • Cutting, skiving, assembling and crimping hydraulic hoses, often while customers wait.
  • Building hose kits and assemblies to customer and OEM specifications.
  • Working from specifications, part numbers and drawings to select the correct hose, fittings and ferrules.
  • Carrying out quality checks on every assembly before it leaves the counter.
  • Processing counter sales and taking payments, with our office team on hand to support with paperwork and order administration.
  • Advising customers on suitable products and identifying opportunities for repeat business as the branch grows.
  • Keeping the trade counter, workshop and stock areas clean, organised and well stocked.
  • Working closely with the wider UK Hose team to help build up the Warrington branch and establish it as a trusted local supplier.

What We're Looking For

  • Reliable, organised and quality-focused.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Practical, hands-on and mechanically minded.
  • Able to follow clear processes and work to deadlines.
  • Proud of producing accurate, high-quality work.
  • A team player with a positive attitude.
  • Keen to learn, improve and develop within the business.

Relevant Experience

We are looking for someone with practical experience of hydraulic hoses and fittings, and confidence dealing with customers face to face.

Relevant experience could include:
  • Previous experience making hydraulic hose assemblies, or working with hose cutting, skiving, crimping or pressure testing equipment.
  • Experience working on a trade counter, in a retail environment, or another customer-facing sales role.
  • Understanding of hydraulic fittings, ferrules, hose types and assembly standards.
  • Ability to read basic technical drawings, part numbers or specifications.
  • A strong eye for detail and the ability to follow processes accurately.
  • Good communication skills and a genuine interest in helping customers find the right solution.

Experience in hydraulic hoses would be ideal, but we are also interested in people from a customer service, engineering or technical background who have the right attitude, attention to detail and willingness to learn. This is a great opportunity to join a newly opened branch from the ground up, with plenty of scope to grow and take on more responsibility as it develops.

What We Offer

  • A growing business with strong long-term opportunities.
  • Investment in new tools, equipment and production facilities.
  • High-quality products and respected brands.
  • The opportunity to work with OEM and trade counter customers.
  • A strong track record of developing people within the business.
  • A supportive team environment with clear standards and ambition.
  • The chance to be part of an exciting growth journey.
