General Description


EPIC.LAN is well-known for running its own events and is also one of the UK’s leading specialised events and production agencies for gaming and esports, helping others to create great gaming productions by taking the hassle out of finding personnel, equipment and technical solutions so they can focus on putting on great events and broadcasts.  

The role will support the team with the delivery of a range of remote and in person productions for EPIC.LAN’s clients in the UK and Europe. 

You will need to be highly organised, with keen attention to detail and great communication skills as well as proficient with typical office software such as Microsoft Office, project management tools and live streaming technology including vMix and Blackmagic Design hardware. 

Due to upcoming projects we are ideally looking for somebody to start this role in late June. 

Job Description


A job at EPIC.LAN will mean getting involved in many areas of the business at times as we are such a small organisation, there are some really exciting projects already in the pipeline for second half of 2025. We will be looking for a team member who is flexible and happy to work on a range of tasks as the business requires. The key parts of this role will:

·         Work closely with project managers, creatives and clients to deliver technical production on a range of gaming, esports and related broadcasts. 
·         Be involved in the whole project lifecycle to ensure that technical requirements and workflows are aligned with creative vision while suggesting solutions and challenges to deliver the best possible show. 
·         Manage technical elements of remote and on-site broadcasts and wider events. 
·         Liaise with suppliers and contractors (including talent) prior to and during shows, building strong relationships, to ensure a quality production for our clients. 
·         Monitor and report on any technical quality issues during broadcasts.
·         Work with project managers to ensure that all broadcast documentation is completed accurately and communicated to crew and clients, e.g. call sheets and project management trackers. 
·         Work with project managers to track income and expenditure for broadcast projects to ensure projects operate efficiently within budget. 
·         Support preparation of equipment, software and services both remotely and from the EPIC.LAN offices to minimise on-site issues. 
·         Diagnose and resolve on-site and remote technical issues. 
·         Have a professional interest in latest technologies to ensure our shows are maximising the use of technology creatively and efficiently.  
·         Undertake any other duties and in line with the responsibilities of the post.

 

Person Specification


(E – Essential, D – Desirable)

·         E – 3+ years experience in a technical production role covering a range of remote and live events. 
·         E – Strong knowledge of live streaming equipment, software and technology, in particular vMix and Blackmagic Design. 
·         D – Experience of project management tools and software such as Monday, Jira, ClickUp or similar. 
·         E – Experience of common office software tools such as Microsoft Office / Google Suite. 
·         E – Excellent organisational and timekeeping skills. 
·         E – High attention to detail. 
·         E – Experience of live communication tools such as Discord or Slack. 
·         E – Strong communication and interpersonal skills when dealing with clients, colleagues and external crews. 
·         E – Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends as required by projects. 
·         E – An understanding of networking essentials and other basic IT skills in the role of livestreaming. 
·         D – An understanding and passion for gaming/esports culture with an interest in how live streaming applies to these shows. 
·         D – An interest in wider production areas such as lighting, cameras, audio to have a broad understanding when dealing with crews and suppliers managing these specialisms. 
·         D – Ability to drive work/hire vehicles including vans up to 3.5T to transport equipment to projects as required with a clean driving licence.

• Location: Hybrid – There will be elements of this role that can be completed remotely, however the candidate must have the ability to travel to the office regularly as needed to support warehouse activities (e.g. equipment preparation) as well as to on-site locations across the UK and Europe. The named base for the role will be at EPIC.LAN, Congleton, Cheshire.
• Starting Salary: £30-35,000 per annum subject to experience. This rate will be reviewed regularly linked to individual and business performance, additional responsibilities, and completion of structured training
• Annual Leave: 28 days (inc. statutory holidays) + birthday leave
• Flexible Working: When you are not required in the office or at events, home/remote working options are also available to maintain a work/life balance subject to agreement with your line manager. Note that the majority of our live shows happen during evenings and weekends to match viewership.
