Are you passionate about Student Voice?
Interested in helping students build and lead meaningful, impactful Communities?
Then you should come and work with US!
Apply here to become our Voice Coordinator (Representation and Change)
Over the past year, the Union of Students Voice Team has been reviewing its operation. We have looked at every student role and every student feedback mechanism to identify what worked and what didn’t. We spoke to almost 1500 students to ensure that they were at the heart of the changes we made. From Student Reps and Part-Time Officers, to feedback portals and surveys, we studied everything.
Now, we’re ready. We have new structures in place going into the new Academic Year, so this is a fantastic time to be joining our team! We will all be learning and adapting together.
This role focuses on supporting Student Representatives, and our newly created Student Leader and Student Organiser roles. Student Leaders are voluntary positions that will lead Student Communities. Communities can fall under the following categories (Liberation and Equality, Faith and Belief, Nationalities and Culture, and Education). These Leaders will act in a similar capacity to how Part-Time Officers would work. Student Organisers are four paid, part-time roles who will help to create and build Student Communities; hosting events and promoting recruitment. These roles are new to Derby SU but are starting to pop un in SUs across the sector.
This Voice Coordinators role is to help recruit and train, and to help support these individuals; to help them be strong Leaders and passionate change-makers. You would support them in running campaigns on issues that matter to student Communities, and therefore would be assisting them in their endeavour to make real and impactful change.
If you think that this could be you, then please apply here by sending us a cover letter and CV. In your letter, please explain why you want this role and why you would be well-suited to it; please include any relevant experience you have.
