About us
Balance is looking for volunteers who are keen, creative, and
fun and who will support people with learning disabilities to
attend home matches at Tottenham Hotspur FC. As an
organisation we strive to ensure that our service users are
empowered to make the choices about what they do and
support them to pursue their ambitions.
The Role
- To accompany and stay with Service User(s) at home
matches for Tottenham Hotspur FC. This will include travel
from the Richmond Borough to the stadium in N17.
- To act appropriately and go with the pace of service users
you are working with, check you have understood them
and be creative about what you do.
- To record all activities completed with the service users as
part of handover
- To work within our policies and procedures to always
ensure you and their safety
- Other reasonable tasks as and when required.
Commitment
- Support is needed during home matches on weekends. All our
volunteers will need to provide two references and a DBS
check.
- We ask for a commitment of one season of support and in
return we offer the opportunity to make a real difference to
someone’s life.
- Your ticket to the matches and travel to and from the ground
will be included in our commitment to you.
- Out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed as agreed and
training opportunities will be provided for those who have not
worked in Learning disability industry before or if you have
experience refreshers training will be provided.
- In addition, an online induction training programme including
'Health and Safety' and 'Equality and Diversity' is provided along
with ongoing supervision from Service manager
Location : Start point Richmond Borough to White Heart Lane and back.

Experience and Skills Required
- Ability to empower service users
- Patience and understanding
- Ability to commit to weekend matches played at Spurs
- home ground for a minimum of 6 months.
- Must be a Spurs fan!
