We are seeking a solicitor to join our Planning team who will work across our Edinburgh and Glasgow offices.

The new member of the team will work with Fraser and the team on a wide range of planning and environmental issues including a portfolio of onshore wind appeals and s.36 applications. You will have lots of direct client contact with some of the biggest players in the industry and will get out and about to see clients, for site visits, to attend conferences and other events.

The team is also involved in a range of other planning and environmental issues including in relation to housing, infrastructure, transport and retail projects. The work is often challenging and you will frequently be involved in advising on novel points and unusual circumstances-so the ability to think creatively and to get to the bottom of the issue quickly is a must.

You will be involved in business development activities of the team and a willingness to help build the business is essential. You will be expected to attend networking events and client pitches, as well is helping with tenders, articles, seminars and other profile raising activities.

As well as having gained some level of planning law experience (whether in relation to energy and infrastructure projects or in other sectors), you must be committed to providing an excellent level of client service and to building a relationship with your immediate peers and other members of our renewable energy team. It is crucial that you can deliver that advice in a straightforward manner and with a level of confidence for someone at your stage in your career.
