About the Role:
Contract: Fixed term contract ending 30-12-2023, with a strong possibility of extension
Hours: 28 hours per week (Part Time) (Happy to Talk Flexible Working)
Mental Health UK brings together four national mental health charities working across the UK; Rethink Mental Illness in England, Support in Mind Scotland, MindWise in Northern Ireland and Adferiad in Wales. We have 40 years' experience of working to improve life for people affected by mental illness in the UK. In September 2019 we commenced our Young People’s Programme, Bloom, which aims to build resilience of 14-18 year olds, through transitions in their lives.
As a manager for the Young People’s Programmes, I am responsible for overall oversight, implementation and monitoring in my respective country. I coordinate implementation of Bloom into Schools and Colleges and Your Resilience into Community settings and manage the team responsible for its delivery. I work with the other nation managers to ensure there is a standardised programme approach.
I maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders including senior leadership in education and possible funders.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for an applicant who will work with all colleagues to deliver a programme that supports young people in building resilience to cope with life transitions. You will have a good understanding of the project and know how the programme works and is delivered. Ideally, you will have experience of managing projects and have worked experience of the education sector. You will have a passion for supporting young people’s mental health through training and education.
We are committed to exploring flexible working opportunities, which benefit the individual and the charity and are a “Happy to Talk Flexible” employer: The post requires a minimum of 4 days a week. You will have the opportunity to discuss this with the hiring panel during the interview. It is hoped that the role and/or the service will grow in the medium term, and this role may require more capacity in the future. If this is the case, we will explore all available options with the jobholder, and the service will look at various combinations such as job shares, full time working, splitting the role into two, etc.
If you are passionate about enabling Support in Mind Scotland to deliver a valuable service to young people, and feel your experience and skills match this role’s criteria, then we want to hear from you!
