Make is a growing digital agency in the heart of East London. Due to new client wins, we're looking for a Senior SEO Manager to join our team. This role focuses on strategy,
innovation, and performance across a diverse range of clients.

We’re looking for someone who is a confident strategist, data-driven, and an expert in both technical SEO and content optimisation. You should be comfortable working directly with clients, leading SEO strategies, and driving measurable growth across organic channels.

You’ll be a senior member of a growing SEO team, with expected line management responsibilities, helping to develop talent and enhance our agency’s SEO capabilities.

What makes a great SEO Senior Manager at Make?

This is a broad and impactful role, requiring a mix of strategic vision, technical expertise, and leadership. Some key traits we look for:

  • 5+ years of hands-on SEO experience, covering both technical SEO and content Bstrategy.
  • 3+ years in an agency environment, working with multiple clients.
  • An understanding of how AI search is changing SEO, and how to adapt strategies for SGE, ChatGPT, or voice-led results.
  • Strong knowledge of Google’s algorithm updates, ranking factors, and industry best practices.
  • A track record of delivering high-quality SEO strategies that drive results for international clients.
  • A natural leader who can motivate and educate teams, both within SEO and across the wider agency.
  • Experience with GEO/local SEO and schema optimisation for location-based visibility.
  • Comfortable working directly with clients, building strong relationships and explaining SEO strategies to stakeholders of all levels.
  • Awareness of how social platforms (like TikTok and Instagram) impact search behaviour and SEO visibility.
  • A creative thinker who finds opportunities for growth beyond standard SEO tactics.
  • Data-driven approach, with experience in tools such as Google Analytics, Google
  • Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, and Looker Studio.
  • Ability to manage SEO projects end-to-end, from audits to implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
  • A process-driven mindset with strong attention to detail.
  • A problem-solver and collaborator, comfortable working with Paid Media,Content, and Development teams to drive holistic digital marketing success.

Key Responsibilities:

As SEO Senior Manager, you will be a key figure in the agency, using your expertise to drive organic growth for our clients. 

Your core responsibilities include:

  • Client Strategy & Management – Own and manage SEO strategies for Make’s tier 1 clients, ensuring that each account is treated with the highest level of care and expertise.
  • Emerging SEO Trends – Stay on top of developments in AI-powered search (e.g. Google’s SGE, Bing Copilot), local/GEO SEO strategies, and social search behaviour. Integrate these into client strategies to ensure visibility across all evolving organic search surfaces.
  • Technical SEO Audits & Implementation – Lead site audits, website migrations, indexing/crawling optimisation, and Core Web Vitals improvements.
  • SEO Content Strategy – Collaborate with content teams to develop high-impact
  • SEO content strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Data & Reporting – Deliver clear, actionable reports that highlight performance insights, growth opportunities, and optimisation plans.
  • Industry Insights & Innovation – Stay ahead of SEO trends, algorithm changes, and emerging technologies to keep Make at the cutting edge of SEO.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration – Work alongside Paid Media, Design, and Development teams to create integrated marketing strategies.
  • Team Leadership & Development – Mentor junior team members, helping to upskill and grow the SEO function within the agency.
  • New Business & Growth – Support new business pitches and proposals, demonstrating how SEO can drive commercial success for potential clients.
