Who do you report to?
You’ll be reporting to our Paraplanning Manager, Sarah Kay.

Who reports directly to you?
This role doesn’t hold any managerial responsibilities but, as a Senior, the team will certainly be looking up to you for guidance.

In your role you oversee the new business journey, ensuring that every step – from research to report writing and form preparation to submitting final recommendations - is handled with care and precision. Additionally, by being a senior member of the team, you will assist in developing Paraplanners, providing direction, guidance and feedback in order to build technical knowledge and confidence across the team - making sure they are competent in all areas of their role.

Key Responsibilities:

Senior Responsibilities
- Leading in the training and onboarding of new team members.
- Provide guidance and technical support to Junior Paraplanners.
- Review and provide feedback on team output and accuracy to ensure quality standards and best practices within the team.
- Delivering team training on any new proposition initiatives, including writing guides for new processes.
- Supporting, motivating and driving the team to ensure all work and allocations are completed within agreed timescales to achieve new business targets.
- Providing support and training to educate and guide other staff members across the company.
- Assisting leaders with organisation of Paraplanning projects and delegating to those appropriate within the team when required. 
- Being an active member of company focus groups, providing technical expertise as required.

Paraplanner Responsibilities
- Writing financial planning and suitability reports and letters using the appropriate research tools, ensuring the best client outcomes.
- Ensuring that the client file including Fact Find, Adviser meeting notes and product information is fully and comprehensively complete.
- Ensuring that client files, suitability reports and letters are fully compliant and technically accurate, liaising regularly with internal and external compliance support.
- Obtaining illustrations, information and valuations from product providers as required.
- Completing and checking tax calculations where necessary.
- Ensuring business is submitted to providers, promptly, accurately and within the agreed timescales.
- Ensuring processes and workflows are followed in line with IFP standards.
- Maintaining your daily task organiser, planning your workload, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Delivering an efficient, friendly, and professional service for all clients, providers, professional partners, and visitors.
- Working in line with IFP’s CPD scheme and T&C scheme.
- Adhere to the cross-cutting rules and act in the spirit of the Consumer Duty to support the achievement of good Client Outcomes.

Skills & Experience Required:
- Achieved CII Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (essential).
- Achieved/working towards CII Level 6 Chartered Financial Planner (desirable).
- Previous experience of mentoring or training preferred.
- Previous paraplanning experience (essential).
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft 365 programmes and, desirably, Intelligent Office.
- Excellent organisation skills, with an ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrable skills in the ability to both lead and motivate staff.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good grasp of English language and Mathematical concepts.
- Takes personal responsibility for consistently delivering high quality work with an excellent level of attention to detail.

Benefits

The starting salary for this role is £38,514 (£21.16/hr).

The salary scale is £38,514 (£21.16/hr) to £45,864 (£25.20/hr) per annum, depending on experience and qualification progress towards Chartered status.
