Summary of Position
The Senior Museum Development Manager works with the Head of Museum Development to facilitate and support development across the sector in line with the strategy for Scotland’s Museums and Galleries Strategy.
Key to the role is direct engagement with museums and galleries in Scotland to build an understanding of diverse development needs. Using this insight, the Senior Museum Development Manager will build strategic relationships, initiate development programmes and identify funding opportunities, working collaboratively to deliver impactful programmes and projects.

Job share
The job share partnership has shared responsibility for providing visible and collaborative leadership within the Museum Development team, as part of the wider Senior Management team, and to the sector. This requires a clear approach to duties such as attendance/representation at meetings and communications. Both partners will provide primary line management for staff within their area of focus, deputising for the other where required. Practical allocation of these responsibilities and mechanisms for information sharing and handover, must be managed effectively by the job share partnership.
