Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Mentor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be confident, adaptable and possess strong leadership qualities tailored towards working with young people. As a mentor, you will play a crucial role in guiding, inspiring and supporting young individuals, helping them to develop essential life skills and confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide mentorship and support to young people in both group and one-on-one settings.
  • Deliver Real Life Educations bespoke L.I.F.E. Programme that focuses on engaging and impactful sessions that enhance health & wellbeing, personal development and life skills.
  • Improvise and shape elements of the role to meet the unique needs of mentees.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, confidence and leadership in young individuals.
  • Collaborate with the Senior & wider team to ensure a comprehensive approach to mentorship.
  • Monitor and report progress using literacy skills.

Essential Requirements:

  • Lived experience, mentoring jobs or a similar role, preferably working with young people.
  • Strong literacy skills to support effective communication and engagement.
  • Confidence and leadership abilities to inspire and guide young people.
  • Adaptability and the ability to think on your feet, shaping the role as needed.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A commitment to empowering and supporting young people.
  • Effective time management.
  • Proficiency with computers, including the ability to use software and online communication tools.

Desirable Experience:

  • Background in education, youth work, social care, or health & fitness.
  • Additional training or certifications related to mentoring or youth development, psychology, health & fitness.
