Korea Foods Company is the leader in the supply of Korean food in the UK. A family-run business, established in 1999, Korea Foods Company has over 500 employees working within its Head Office, Logistics Centres, and Retail Stores.
We import from key brands in Korea, and distribute to the Asian community, focusing on East Asian consumers. We have also seen substantial growth within the supermarket multiples, securing significant listings with Tesco, Morrisons, Asda, and Costco.
We also operate our own retail store network, Seoul Plaza, currently with 21 stores within the estate, with more opening in 2026.
Growth has been consistently double-digit, with a sales turnover in excess of £85 million.

Contract: Permanent, Full-time, Subject to 3-month probation
Hours: 42.5 hours per week (Mon - Fri 0830 - 1800)
Main Purpose & Scope of the Job
Our company’s retail arm, Seoul Plaza, has been evolving for over 20 years, under the stewardship of the founder of the company. With a strategic focus on retail growth, we’re looking for a Retail Marketing Planner to plan and execute the retail promotions, and develop and create marketing initiatives to drive sales. The Retail Marketing Planner would require to be hands-on, and possess a good understanding of food retail marketing activities. The candidate would need to adapt to a family-run company that has a deep-rooted Korean and Asian culture embedded within the company, and be able to present and implement a realistic change programme that aligns with the founder’s vision. You will report directly to the senior directors.
Objectives and Key Responsibilities
- Co-ordinating promotional activity from start to end across the business.
- Ensuring all promotions have a clear and simple customer journey and any promotion is relevant to our core customer.
- Ensuring all promotions are aligned to business and Marketing objectives.
- Drive sales through promotions and other marketing activities.
- Being in the detail for promotions e.g. pricing changes, terms and conditions, product distributions, merchandising solutions, optimal timings, cross functional communication, membership schemes..
- Owning all promotions analysis.
- Clear communication of any promotional activity across all relevant departments.
- Facilitating implementation of store specific promotions/trial activity.
- Managing key team deadlines & critical path and ensuring everything is on track.
Skills and Qualifications
- Management and leadership experience within a management role.
- At least 2 year’s experience with retail marketing and promotions. This must include contribution towards social media, advertising, and supply chain. Experience with food supermarket chains is highly preferential.
- Immense organisational skills required to co-ordinate and execute initiatives.
- Cultural understanding and sensitivity, with ability to adapt to existing company culture.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong multitasking capabilities under pressure
- Ability to work on their own without supervision
- Clear, confident, and concise communication abilities
- With many staff being of Korean or Chinese heritage, Korean and/or Chinese languages would be advantageous.
