Publishing Director:


We're seeking a Publishing Director to lead our publishing efforts for a major new AAA title currently in development. You'll be the central point of contact for the project, overseeing its entire lifecycle from pre-launch through to live operations. This is a senior leadership role that requires a strategic mindset, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of the video game industry. You'll be responsible for the project's overall success, including its commercial performance, brand reputation, and player community. 

Key Responsibilities:


  • Project Leadership: Serve as the primary liaison between Secret Mode and the development studio. You'll ensure the project stays on track, meets key milestones, and aligns with both our collective strategic goals
  • Team Management: Directly manage a team of marketing and community experts alongside responsibility for our execution through production, QA, Platform and Commercial teams ensuring everyone is aligned and working effectively toward a common goal
  • Marketing & Communications: Oversee the development and execution of the game's marketing and communication strategies. This includes brand positioning, PR, social media, and community engagement. You'll ensure a consistent and impactful message across all channels
  • Business & Strategy: Take ownership of the project's budget, sales forecasts, and overall commercial performance. You will analyse market trends and player data to inform strategic decisions and optimize the game's long-term success
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster strong collaboration across various teams, including development, marketing, QA, and community management. You'll be the glue that holds the project together, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow
  • Act as a key escalation point for complex challenges—whether related to development, publishing, or production within your Franchise
  • Foster deep, collaborative relationships with our external development partner
  • Own the relationship with the licence holder to ensure all activities fit within IP branding, legal and sentiment guidelines

 

To be successful you will have:


  • Proven experience in a senior publishing or product / brand management role within the video game industry, ideally in a AAA environment
  • Ideally you will have experience working alongside major licensors
  • Demonstrable experience managing teams and leading complex projects 
  • Strong understanding of video game marketing, community management, and development pipelines
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership abilities
  • A strategic thinker with a strong business acumen and a results-oriented approach
  • Good understanding of international games publishing landscape: commercial behaviours, industry trends, and opportunities 
  • Established network of industry contacts 


Hybrid role:


  • This role will require you to be onsite at our Leamington studio 2 days per week
  • This role may also involve  travel to various events or meetings dependent on the projects you are working on
