Role Purpose
Deliver Functional Safety and Cyber Security functions, working cross-domain (Systems, HW, SW) to ensure development of product aligns with company’s and customers functional safety and cyber security processes. Participate in delivery practices, concept, and design, both concept and analysis level. You will liaise directly with all stakeholders to ensure delivery of safe engineering solutions, compliant with relevant legislation and appropriate regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborating with system engineers, components engineers and external suppliers, to deliver designs within the ISO 26262 and ISO 21434 (and other derived standards) frameworks. 
  • Ensuring compliance, for safety and security concepts along with technical, software and hardware safety requirements.
  • Safety and security and Failure analysis (HARA/TARA/FMEA/FTA/ DFA), documenting analysis outcomes and recommending requirements based on results of this analysis. 
  • Participate in Reliability study for HW (Fault metrics calculations) and FMEDA. 
  • Support customer reviews with functional safety input.   
  • Deliver work products in compliance with processes for ISO 9001.
  • Deliver tasks in line with project milestones.
 
Qualifications, Experience and Skills Required
  • A degree or similar qualification in systems engineering or an engineering discipline. 
  • Strong experience in working across functional safety and cyber security framework.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering processes from requirements capture through to design validation.  
  • Familiarity with MBSE techniques for system modelling.
  • Hardware or Software verification knowledge. 
  • With good understanding of safety metrics (SPFM, LPF, PMHF), silicon devices, processors, micro- controllers, and safety mechanisms.
 
Preferred
  • Experience in consultancy environments. 
  • Experience of working in/implementing safety and security frameworks across multiple sectors.    
  • Experience in building a safety culture.

 System or Knowledge
  • Advanced capabilities in Microsoft Office and applications.
  • Experience of Business Management Systems including ISO9001. 
  • Familiar with delivering projects to APQP requirements. 
  • Familiarity with System life cycle processes such as ASPICE or ISO15288.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint, Confluence and JIRA.      
  • Experience with model-based tools.

Location and Travel
  • You must be eligible to work in the UK and have no restrictions for world-wide travel. 
  • This role is based at our Head Office in the UK, with flexibility for remote working.
  • Working hours are 0900 to 1700, including 30-minute paid break 5 days a week, however frequent travel is expected, and flexible working patterns are essential to the role.
