SYP provides a national platform for young people to discuss the issues that are important to them, and campaign for changes to the nation that they live in. We support our members in their work by training them, supporting their personal development, and empowering them, using a youth work ethos.

The Policy and Campaigns Manager plays a vital role in supporting young people to lead bold and impactful campaigns on the issues that matter to young people in Scotland. The postholder will lead the planning and delivery of SYP’s campaigning and influencing activities, ensuring that young people’s priorities are translated into effective campaigns, clear communications and meaningful opportunities to influence decision-makers.

The Policy and Campaigns Manager provides line management support for officers within the Policy and Public Affairs team and contributes to wider organisational planning and delivery as a member of SYP’s Managers Forum.

If you are passionate about amplifying young people’s voices and have the skills to support young people’s meaningful participation in decision-making, we would love to hear from you.

What you'll be doing day to day:

Strategic Communications
  • Work with colleagues to develop and coordinate communications plans for priority campaigns, aligning with SYP’s wider communications approach.
  • Identifying opportunities to raise the profile of young people’s priorities through digital communications, media engagement, stakeholder communications and relevant public affairs opportunities.
