Working on your own or as part of an ambulance crew, excellent communication, caring and time management skills are as must, as you will support and care for a range of patients with different conditions, mobility and disabilities.
You will plan your journey to make sure patients get to their destination on time, supporting them on their journey, ensuring they are cared for to and from hospital for treatment, or back home after discharge.
In order to fulfil this role you must hold a full and valid UK driving licence, be physically fit so you can undertake the manual handling of patients and equipment, have previous experience in customer support and preferably patient care experience.
Qualifications
• A valid UK full driving licence, held for a least 12 months and no more than three endorsement points.
• A good general level of education, with at least level 1 literacy and numeracy standards.
• A first aid qualification is preferred but not essential as full training will be given.
Personal Qualities
• Aged 21 and over, due to vehicle insurance purposes.
• Great communication skills, gained from dealing with members of the public from a range of
different background.
• A caring and compassionate nature.
• A willingness to learn.
