The Role
This is a newly created part time role which will sit within the People Team, reporting into the Head of People & Culture and work closely with the HR & People Coordinator, however you will also work closely with the company Directors. You will be responsible for taking on the day to day financial activities within the business as well as helping shape the finance function for future business growth and have an eye for streamlining processes.
This role will be responsible for ensuring that Titus has it’s bookkeeping in order for budgets and taxes. Other duties will include data entry into the system, preparing a balance sheet, updating financial records, processing invoices and cost analysis reports. Priority tasks include paying invoices, creating invoices and credit control, procurement and being the finance link between Titus and our suppliers.
This role will be responsible for ensuring that Titus has its invoices in order for budget and taxes. Other duties will include creating invoices, purchase orders, credit control, procurement and the relationship between suppliers with regards to the chasing of outstanding invoices. Priority tasks include the paying of employee salaries, procurement and being the front facing and link between Titus and our suppliers.

You will be an outgoing, positive and experienced Finance Assistant working for us on a part time basis; there may be a view to increase hours in the future as we are a fast growing business.

You could also be someone looking for a change, or potentially wishing to move from full to part time if your life circumstance has changed to have a better work life balance. You will understand finance fundamentals and know how to support the business. This is a great standalone opportunity for someone to make their mark and establish a finance function for the business.
What will you get up to?
You will support the company Directors with all finance related activities for Titus as well as helping with their other growing business interests. You will be responsible for monthly payroll, including collecting information for and preparing payroll payments for employees, ensuring changes to staff salaries are accounted for, payment of annual bonuses, liaising with our external accountants and ensuring that staff expenses are paid monthly.
You will raise PO’s and pay all invoices for the company, as well as chase any outstanding invoices and reconcile within the Xero system. You will also be responsible for making payments to the HMRC and any VAT transfers.
You will also raise sales invoices and calculate and pay monthly sales bonuses for the team. You will reconcile any discrepancies or errors identified by conversing with the necessary parties and any external businesses. We will look to you for the creation of a cost analysis report and the tracking of payable accounts.
What do we need from you?
Previous experience of working within a finance role at an Assistant level
Able to streamline and improve operational finance processes
Good knowledge of accounting practices
Self drive and use of initiative
Ability to work independently with minimal management support
Analytical and critical thinking skills
Adheres to the company’s financial policies and procedures
Good working knowledge and experience of Excel and spreadsheet programmes
The ability to multitask and prioritise time-dependent responsibilities
Exceptional communication skills
Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
A confident, professional and outgoing manner
Ideal, but not a deal breaker
HR experience to an Assistant level
Experience of using Xero
Finance qualification
