Role Overview
White Lodge operates an inclusive, Ofsted-registered nursery for children aged 2-5. In this role, you will provide high-quality early years education and care, ensuring every child is valued and supported to reach their potential. This includes children with special educational needs and disabilities. You will help create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where all children can learn, grow, and thrive.
Childcare & Learning
- Take responsibility as a key worker for a small group of children and their families, ensuring parents are actively involved in every aspect of their child's care, development, and progress.
- Plan and deliver inclusive, sensory-rich, and developmentally appropriate activities that promote learning across all EYFS areas, with a focus on communication, interaction, and physical and emotional development.
- Adapt routines, play, and learning opportunities to meet individual needs and ensure every child can participate, progress, and experience success.
- Observe, assess, and record children's learning and development, contributing to individual planning, next steps, and statutory EYFS progress reviews.
- Implement and review individual support plans (e.g., IEPs or EHCPs), working closely with therapists and specialists to embed recommended strategies into daily practice.
- Monitor and report on each child's progress and emerging needs to inform review meetings and future planning.
Health, Wellbeing & Safety
- Ensure all children feel safe, secure, and valued, and that their physical and emotional wellbeing is prioritised at all times.
- Provide high-quality personal care, including toileting, feeding, dressing, and mobility support, delivered with dignity, respect, and sensitivity to each child's individual needs.
- Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures, reporting any concerns promptly to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
- Carry out daily safety checks, uphold health and safety standards, and maintain a clean, organised, and sensory-friendly environment.
Teamwork & Continuous Improvement
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, therapists, and external professionals to deliver consistent, high-quality care and education.
- Participate in team meetings, reflective practice, and continuous professional development to enhance knowledge of SEND, inclusive education, and therapeutic approaches.
- Undertake additional reasonable duties as requested by your line manager or the senior management team.
