 Reporting to: Director of Marketing
 Location: Market Harborough or Leicester

 Main Duties to Include:
  1. Work closely with the Director of Marketing, marketing colleagues, and Heads of Department, and meet regularly to plan and review marketing activity. 
  2. Plan and coordinate central marketing activity, providing guidance on marketing best practice across the firm. 
  3. Take responsibility for the delivery of central marketing activities, including social media and website management, content creation, events, articles and news, CRM database management, advertising, and promotional materials. 
  4. Liaise with internal departments to plan, manage, and progress marketing activity, including monthly marketing meetings and supporting the development of annual departmental marketing plans. 
  5. Manage relationships with external marketing agencies and suppliers.
  6. Undertaking any other reasonable duties as required which may be allocated by your Line Manager.

Job Features
Marketing Planning:
 
  • Work alongside the Board, Heads of Department, and Director of Marketing to support marketing planning and activity. 
  • Assist with the development and implementation of annual departmental marketing plans.
  • Lead and manage monthly marketing meetings with legal departments to plan activity, improve effectiveness, and generate ideas. 
  • Provide guidance to departments on marketing best practice to ensure activities and spend are effective and aligned with firm objectives. 
  • Produce monthly reports on marketing activity and effectiveness, covering both departmental and central marketing initiatives.
 
Marketing Projects: 
  • Work with the Director of Marketing on bespoke projects aimed at improving marketing performance and supporting business growth.

Marketing Budget:  
  • Support budget monitoring for marketing activity, noting that overall approval of spend and purchase orders sits with the Marketing Director. 
  • Raise purchase orders and monitor spend where required (e.g. sponsorships, agency projects, promotional items, advertising). 
  • Attend monthly strategy and finance meetings with finance and departmental colleagues where relevant.
 
Supplier Management:  
  • Manage relationships with external marketing suppliers and agencies, including digital agencies, printers, and events venues.

Summit CRM Marketing Database, Data & Systems: 
  • Oversee use of the Summit CRM database, including adding new contacts, GDPR email opt‑ins, tag management, and template creation. 
  • Use the CRM to support audience segmentation and delivery of structured email campaigns and regular e‑newsletters. 
  • Work with IT and marketing colleagues on data integration from other systems into Summit. 
  • Support training and guidance for others using the system, including producing how‑to guides. 
 
Digital Marketing Management:
Website
Manage website operation and development, including updates, error resolution, campaigns, landing pages, SEO, CRO, and content creation.
PPC
Work with external agencies on PPC campaign setup, testing, optimisation, and performance reporting.
Email Marketing
Manage regular e‑newsletters and targeted campaigns, including monitoring and reporting on performance.
Advertising
Coordinate creation and placement of digital advertising, including for industry publications.
Social Media
Create and manage content across social media platforms, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Google My Business, and YouTube, with performance reporting.
Video
Support the creation of video content and short‑form media for departments and firm‑wide use when requested.
New Enquiries
Manage and distribute new business enquiries received via central inboxes to relevant departments.
 
Events:
  • Promote networking events for niche groups and assist with organising webinars using digital and email marketing. 
  • Research audiences and advise on success criteria for events. 
  • Support delivery of events when required.  

Reputation & Content Management:  
  • Write, source, and manage content for the website, social media, and marketing materials. 
  • Review and improve content written by others to ensure quality, consistency, and brand alignment. 
  • Support the promotion of the firm’s brand and reputation.

Legal Directories and Awards 
  • Coordinate and collate Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners submissions in collaboration with teams.
  • Maintain a central library of directory logos and ensure online directory content is up to date.
  • Author and improve award submissions and supporting evidence, manage online submissions, and communicate outcomes.

Digital Design & Branded Materials 
Ensure marketing artwork is high quality and on‑brand across all channels. 
  • Manage the firm’s central image library and image licensing. 
  • Produce branded PowerPoint presentations using advanced formatting. 
  • Order branded materials, banners, and client gifts. 
  • Use in‑house design skills to support marketing collateral where needed.
 
New Business Development Management: 
  • Support business development activity, including pitch documents, research, and targeting of new opportunities.
 
Relationships & Values 
  • Build and maintain strong internal relationships, offering constructive support to colleagues. 
  • Promote and support compliance with the firm’s core values. 
  • Develop effective working relationships with external suppliers to maximise value, quality, and cost efficiency. 
  • Ensure high standards of client care in line with the firm’s Client Charter and core values.  
 
What We’re Looking For:
 Qualifications:
· Relevant marketing qualification or degree, or equivalent experience

Experience and Technical Skills:
Essential:
· 4 –6 years’ marketing experience, ideally gained within a professional services environment, with the ability to work confidently and independently following induction and onboarding.
· Experience managing social media platforms, including LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram.
· Strong PowerPoint skills, including advanced presentation formatting.
· Good working knowledge of Excel, particularly for data handling and analysis.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
· Experience managing websites using WordPress CMS or similar content management systems.
· Experience of email marketing, including creating, editing, and distributing templates through platforms such as Summit CRM.
· Strong database management skills, including contact segmentation, tagging, and maintaining marketing databases.

Desirable:
·  Awareness of AI tools, including ChatGPT; video production and editing experience for short-form social media content; experience with Summit CRM or similar systems such as Mailchimp, InterAction, or Salesforce.
· Knowledge of HTML for website formatting.
