Main Duties and Responsibilities

Events
  • Support event planning and delivery for both teams, including liaison with internal departments, freelance artists and catering
  • Manage invites and guest lists for Supporter Evenings and fundraising events
  • Support the Development and Executive teams by preparing briefing notes for Development events
  • Support both teams to evaluate the delivery of events

Trusts & Foundations and Corporate Sponsorship
  • Use templates and prior examples to draft applications for small grants (under £5,000) and compile post-funding reports
  • Create communications for current funders including event invitations and programme updates
  • Support the Development team in researching prospects, and drafting pitch decks.

Individual Giving
  • Support the Development Department to deliver the Individual Giving strategy
  • Support the Development Department in providing stewardship for donors, both through written assets and communications and in person.
  • Support in booking tickets for Star Supporters and prospects, and track supporter benefits.

Marketing Campaigns
  • Support the Marketing team in the running of campaigns:
    • Create campaign materials, including designing digital assets, and creating briefs for graphic designers, photographers and videographers, including amendments, shortlisting and sign-off with stakeholders.
    • Support the day-to-day management of the Bush’s social media channels
    • Support with regular e-newsletters
  • Support the Press Manager, including assisting with photoshoots and interviews
  • Manage the delivery of Playtexts, including amendments, sign-off with internal stakeholders, ordering and invoicing
  • Support the delivery of marketing activity for non-production campaigns
  • Support the Marketing team to effectively evaluate and report on campaign performance.

Administration
  • Maintain accurate records on Spektrix and the shared drive, as well as keeping efficient paper files and audit trails where appropriate 
  • Support the Development Team with the delivery of benefits and fundraising signage, and ensuring donors are appropriately credited
  • Support the Marketing and Finance teams to ensure invoices are coded in a timely manner
  • Keep detailed income and expenditure records for both departments
  • Maintain accurate Gift Aid records and submit regular claims 
  • Liaise with all teams to ensure that project information and budgets are up to date 

General
  • Attend read-throughs, sharings, previews, Press Nights and Supporters Evenings and other Bush Theatre events as required
  • Actively deliver green policies and practices for the department.
  • Adhere to, and actively contribute to, Bush Theatre policies, including Equalities (diversity, access, and equal opportunities), Environmental and Health & Safety
  • Collaborate to maximise income and minimise expenditure wherever possible, without jeopardising the quality of the work or the reputation of the Bush Theatre
  • Any other duties as reasonably required


Person Specification

Essential
  • An affinity for the mission, vision and work of the Bush Theatre and a passion to help achieve the theatre’s success.
  • Ability to develop relationships quickly and effectively and communicate with our supporters, visitors and staff in a friendly and professional manner
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills with proven ability to work flexibly under pressure, to prioritise and to meet deadlines 
  • Close attention to detail 
  • Interest in, or knowledge of, theatre or performing arts 
  • Good writing skills with an ability to summarise key information concisely 
  • An adaptable team player who is comfortable working as part of a busy team, but also able to work independently 
  • Confident and well presented 
  • Ability to handle sensitive material with confidentiality 
  • A demonstrable commitment to creating an inclusive and welcoming work environment
  • Understanding of a commitment to equal opportunities and diversity within our work

Desirable (but not essential):
  • Knowledge or experience of fundraising 
  • Experience of a database such as Spektrix, Tessitura or Raiser's Edge 
  • Experience of producing grant applications or reports for funders 
  • Knowledge of arts, education & outreach and capital funders 
  • Experience of creating marketing materials, including social media content, to reach new audiences
  • Experience working within allocated budgets
  • Experience of working in an office environment and interacting with a wide range of people
