The role of Legal Administrator is to provide administrative and technical document support to the fee earners within the group.
Key responsibilities include:
- Document Assembly: Drafting of specific legal documents using standardised styles, ability to produce a high standard of PowerPoint presentations and the ability to work on lengthy complex legal documents
- Audio typing: Assist with client correspondence and legal documents through audio-typing and word processing
- File management: managing both hard copy and soft copy using client management software
- General administrative duties including photocopying, scanning of documents, filing, proofreading, opening and closing client files, including drafting of AML documentation and chasing ID and proof of address information
- Financial systems including: the preparation of fee request forms and breakdowns of WIP reports; preparation of expense & mileage claim forms and dealing with credit/debit balances
- Completion of standard forms, preparing reports and spreadsheets, maintaining records for clients and legal research/searches when required.
- Providing support to other Legal Administrators and teams across the firm when required
- Maintain client confidentiality and legal professional privilege
Specific Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience of working within a legal environment
- Familiarity with legal terms and language
- Excellent IT skills including full MS Packages
- Demonstrated knowledge and use of track changes
- Ability to work with, and willingness to take direction from various levels of legal staff from partner to trainee
