Purpose of role:
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Kitchen Porter/Kitchen Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cleaning and sanitizing: Wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils. Ensure all kitchen areas, including floors, counters, and equipment, are clean and sanitised.
  • Waste management: Dispose of kitchen waste and recycling appropriately.
  • Food preparation assistance: Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and washing ingredients.
  • Stock management: Receive and store deliveries, ensuring proper rotation of stock to maintain freshness.
  • Equipment maintenance: Ensure kitchen equipment is clean and in good working order. Report any maintenance or repair needs.
  • Support team: Provide general support to the kitchen staff as needed, including helping with plating and serving during busy periods.
 

Qualifications:
  • Experience: Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not required.
  • Skills: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, strong attention to detail, and good organisational skills.
  • Physical requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy items, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Team player: Positive attitude and willingness to learn and assist team members.
