About the job
Reporting to the editor of Commercial Motor, the Technical Writer will be responsible for writing news and features for print and online, covering all aspects of buying and selling new and used trucks.
Key Responsibilities
· Working with the Editor and Deputy Editor to write dealership and truck manufacturer news for online and in print.
· Maintaining a regular output of news and feature content around the running, purchase and operation of new and used trucks by commercial vehicle operators in the UK.
· Building and maintaining strong contacts in the UK road transport industry with manufacturers, suppliers, retailers and buyers.
· Understanding the wants and needs of buyers and sellers of new and used commercial vehicles in the UK, and producing relevant information from a variety of sources.
Key Skills & Competencies
· Relevant reporting experience preferential, but not essential.
· Strong written communications skills.
· Ability to perform well with tight deadlines.
· Ability to work well with different teams and business functions.
· Strong understanding of social media.
· Knowledge of web publishing.
· A car driving licence is required, but an HGV licence is not.
