Job Advert
We are looking to hire a number of Installation Jack and Slide Supervisors based in the UK – preferably located near either Midlands or the South West.
Your new company
Osprey is a great, British, logistics provider. Drawing on 25 years of in-house experience, our people find the right approach, the right combination of expertise and equipment and the safest, most efficient way to transport and install their assets and critical infrastructure. We’ve shaped our business with family valued, and we concentrate on building long-term relationships. We’re independent. We may be the strongest UK company you’ve never heard of.
We transport and install the largest structures and critical assets needed to build and renew major infrastructure. Everything from a new 4,000te railway bridge, to the world’s largest offshore windfarm blade – at 107m long. With a maritime, vessel-owning heritage to be proud of, we own our own heavy cargo barges; we have one of the largest domestic SPMT fleets in the UK and some of the heaviest lift cranes. We’re committed to delivering on our promises. On time, on budget.
Your new role
As the Installation Jack and Slide Supervisor you will act as the focal point of crane operations, rigging and lifting expertise within Osprey and undertake, or support others to undertake, the safe planning and execution of crane lifting services.
This role will also be responsible for the safe operation of the cranes through maintenance management and regular review of assessment of competent operators.
As a Installation Jack and Slide Supervisor you will be accountable for:
- Supervision and operation of 4-point lift systems (Mega-lift, Lift-n-Lock, Telescopic) up to 1000t capacity.
- Supervision and operation of hydraulic jacking systems such as cartridge tower systems and climbing jacks. This would include bottle jacks, pancake jacks and other regular-type jacking equipment.
- Supervision and operation of skidding using conventional skid systems – Jack & Skid (strand jack skidding/pulling/launching is a bonus).
- Supervision and operation of other types of installation equipment (turntables, tower systems, strand jack lifting).
