For over 20 years the company has successfully tendered for a variety of welfare to work programmes, securing funding from several sources including Skills Development Scotland and the Department for Work and Pensions as well as grant funding from the Big Lottery and European Structural Funds, to support South Lanarkshire residents and businesses.
The company currently delivers the Scottish Government’s Fair Start Scotland Programme throughout South Lanarkshire and delivers services to young people and adults supported by Scottish Government’s No One Left Behind (NOLB) and the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF).
WHAT WILL THE ROLE INVOLVE?
As In Work Employment Advisor your role will be to establish and maintain excellent relationships with clients that have transitioned into employment following engagement in RTWS services, providing personalised support to ensure clients sustain and progress while in work. You will liaise directly with employers and partner organisations to ensure the client has access to the appropriate support to sustain existing work or alternatively seek alternative employment opportunities.
You will ensure clients in work are satisfied with their current employment situation, providing advice and guidance related to any employment issues, health, housing, or financial issues impacting sustainability. You will also undertake skills assessment to establish continuous professional development needs to ensure clients have access to relevant training and qualifications for career enhancement. The ideal candidate will be target driven, motivated, enthusiastic, an excellent communicator able to build strong relationships and meet KPI’s with experience in a similar role.
MAIN AIMS:
- To achieve targets and KPI's to support clients to sustain employment and skills development.
- To actively manage a caseload of clients in work with a range of barriers, provide individualised advice and guidance, related to employability, health, wellbeing, budgeting, and money advice.
- To promote and encourage key client groups to engage in specialist services to address any barriers impacting on job sustainment.
- To proactively work with clients and employers to match clients to suitable vacancies to prevent clients from falling out of work.
- To deliver a range of 1-2-1 and group support sessions tailored to meet customer needs.
- To match clients to training and qualification opportunities, tailored to their individual needs and job goal aspirations.
- To meet ongoing contractual compliance requirements including accurately completing all paperwork and input to a bespoke database.
DUTIES:
- To deliver personal targets and KPI's and contribute to team targets and KPI's in line with the performance management framework.
- Develop an individual Action Plan for all clients that will be regularly reviewed to support clients to overcome barriers while in employment.
- Completing training needs analysis ensuring interventions are tailored to clients’ needs and aspirations.
- To work in collaboration with colleagues to ensure the client’s journey throughout the sustainment period is fully supported in accordance with their needs.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with employers, partners and all stakeholders providing regular updates on client progress as appropriate.
- Maintain a good understanding of local vacancies to effectively match clients to suitable vacancies and market clients to employers.
- Ensure auditable documentation including job outcome verifications are completed and filed accordingly.
- Capture and record accurate information and input it into bespoke database in line with company quality standard.
- Deliver and maintain a quality service at all times in line with RTWS Customer Service Standards Policy and Procedures.
- Be aware of the confidential nature of information received, and act at all times within the boundaries of GDPR.
- Carry out other duties in line with organisational requirements.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? ESSENTIAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
Essential
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar client facing role
- An understanding of issues impacting clients when they return to the labour market
- An understanding of employer expectations, employment
- Knowledge of local labour market intelligence
- Ability to match clients to suitable vacancies/opportunities for employment sustainment
- Target and performance driven to achieve KPI’s.
- Ability to manage and support a caseload
- Ability to encourage, persuade and motivate
- Flexibility to cope with the varying demands of the role and achieve the desired results
- Ability to problem solve and respond appropriately to a variety of situations
- Good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Good organisational skills
- IT literate with experience of Microsoft Office and Outlook
- Full Driving licence and own transport
