Job title:  Human Resources Officer
Location:  Remote - with site support as and when required (to include Tuesdays)
Hours of work:  14 hours per week
 Department:  Operations
Reporting to:  Operations Director
Salary:  Up to £12,546 [£31,366 FTE] (dependent on experience and qualifications) 
Salary Band:  Management
 
Job purpose

To lead day to day HR functions and provide an excellent support service across all areas of HR to both ministries and sites within Kerith Community Church. To be the main contact between Kerith and our external HR Consultant.

Main duties
Human Resources: 
  • Be a point of contact for all HR related queries. 
  • Administer the recruitment and selection process including probationary periods. 
  • Administer the employee Personal Development Process.
  • Manage the recruitment of all Office Team volunteers. Manage and assist Line Managers with the induction process for new starters. 
  • Manage the exit interview process for staff that are leaving the organisation. 
  • Manage the process of staff rewards (long-service awards, sabatticals etc).
  • Own the Breathe HR database.  Ensure records are current in relation to staff, their personal details, line management, work patterns, holiday entitlement, sickness absence, maternity/paternity/shared parental leave, leavers etc in accordance with current legislation. Train staff and provide ongoing support as necessary. 
  • Act as the administrator for Improve training to include managing the database, releasing training and running reports. 
  • Maintain the HR filing system - scanning documents in and ensuring the structure is up to date, ensuring compliance to retention periods and GDPR. 
  • Ensure managers fulfil their performance review responsibilities and record appraisal feedback.  
  • Answer queries and advise on HR changes/issues (with support from the HR Consultant). 
  • Prepare Trustee reports. 
  • Work with our HR Consultant to ensure that company policies remain current and that employees are regularly briefed on updates and compliance requirements. 
  • Keep Organisation Chart and other staff information sources up to date. 
  • Manage the Supervision budget.

It is an occupational requirement that the post-holder is a person professing and practicing the Christian faith.

 | Qualifications   |
Essential:
·        Good general education
·        Level 3 CIPD qualification or enthusiasm / commitment to study for this qualification.
  Desirable:
·        Safer recruitment training (it will be imperative that this training is undertaken at the earliest opportunity once in post)

Essential:
·        HR administration
Desirable:
·        Experience working with both staff and volunteers in the charity sector

| Knowledge |
Essential:
·        Understanding of current employment legislation
Desirable:
·        Knowledge of BreatheHR and Improve online training systems
·        Experience using Church Suite
·        Experience using Sharepoint
