Position: HR Manager
Salary: £35,000-38,000 
Hours: 35 hours per week Mon to Fri 9am to 5pm
Location: Remote
Reports to: Operations Director
Contract type: Permanent

Role Purpose
  • Provide advice and guidance on a wide range of employee relations issues
  • To keep up to date with changes to legislation and best practice and implement these within the organisation
  • Lead on employee relations casework including (but not limited to) dispute resolutions, disciplinaries, grievances, absence, retirement and redundancy
  • Lead on and develop the HR related policies and processes within the organisation
  • Lead on the work we do around our culture, accessibility and inclusion
  • Lead on the learning and development of our employees and workers

Key responsibilities and duties


  • Develop HR planning strategies, considering immediate and long term employee and worker requirements.
  • Advise line managers on the terms and conditions of employment and share best practice with them
  • Advise line managers on policy queries such as sickness absence, maternity and paternity leave, holiday leave, benefits and pay, among others.
  • Develop and deliver HR policy and procedures to drive performance and mitigate disputes.
  • Advise line managers on any grievance or performance issues.
  • Analyse and discuss training needs in conjunction with departmental managers.
  • Working with the Director of Operations to coach line managers in best practice with employee management and relations.
  • Plan and deliver training relevant to your role.
  • Lead on recruitment management and onboarding process, including supporting teams to write job descriptions, prepare interview questions and manage interviews.
  • Coordinate new starter inductions, whilst building and developing an effective onboarding process.
  • Ensure that all employees and workers are compliant and trained in relation to mandatory training requirements and annual refreshers.
  • Lead on embedding a culture of accessibility and inclusion within all work, and support the learning and development of employees and workers.
  • Manage the storing and updating of personnel files in line with GDPR and the Data Protection Act.
  • Liaise with the organisation's external HR support provider where necessary.
  • Any other duties that sit within the remit of the role.


HR Manager Person Specification

  • At a minimum, a level 3 (basic entry level) or higher CIPD or HR qualification.
  • Previous experience in a HR generalist role.
  • Experience of dealing with a wide range of HR issues.
  • Ideally lived experience of being trans, non-binary or trans adjacent would be advantageous.
  • Sound working knowledge of employment law.
  • An understanding of GDPR and Employment data protection within an organisational and HR setting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, in writing and verbally, with colleagues and partners at all organisational levels
  • Strong team player with excellent people skills, able to relate appropriately to a wide range of people.
  • Excellent understanding of confidentiality with strict professional boundaries and personal integrity.
  • A fair, objective and non-judgemental attitude.
  • A commitment to undertake training as required and an enthusiasm for new challenges.
  • Knowledge and understanding, alongside a positive commitment to equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice.
  • Experience of producing reports for senior management and stakeholders.
  • A commitment to succeed in line with Anne Health’s aims and objectives.
  • Be able to manage your own time effectively and ensure attention to detail at all times.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as may be required such as attending events and residential weekends.
