We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Padel Head Coach to lead the Christ’s Hospital Padel programme. This is a pivotal role, blending hands-on coaching with strategic oversight of the sport’s growth at Bluecoat Sports (BCS).

The successful candidate will have a key role working with the BCS team to design and develop the Padel coaching and competitive programme prior to the opening and assist with the Padel team.

After the launch date you will coach members of all ages and levels, manage the coaching team, coordinate events, and ensure the sport thrives both competitively and socially within our community.

The successful candidate will also be required to have Front of House experience to assist with sales through our pro-shop and membership offerings.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
• Deliver high-quality padel coaching sessions for individuals, groups, and juniors.
• Develop training programs tailored to different skill levels, from beginners to advanced players.
• Organise and lead padel clinics, workshops, and tournaments.
• Monitor player progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Demo rackets for purchase.
• Oversee regular court maintenance and cleaning schedules.
• Maintain and update Padel CRM, including Padel levels.
• Schedule group coaching sessions and 121s.
• Promote a positive and inclusive sporting environment.
• Working with the LTA to provide tournaments and competitions.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Certified Padel Coach (national or international certification preferred).
• Previous experience in a managerial or leadership role would be advantageous, ideally in a sports or leisure environment.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• IT, Outlook, WhatsApp and Social Media skills required.
• Ability to lead a team and work independently.
• Full driving license and own vehicle, essential.
• Coordination of marketing and promotional activities to grow club visibility and engagement alongside the BCS marketing team.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Build partnerships with local organisations, sponsors, and community groups.
• Responsive to emails and chats.
• Front of House experience to assist with sales through our pro-shop and membership offerings.

KNOWLEDGE
• Strong understanding of Padel rules, scoring systems, and match play.
• Knowledge of coaching methodology, player progression, and skill development in racket sports.
• Awareness of injury prevention, recovery, and movement mechanics specific to Padel.
• Understanding of safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion within a coaching environment.
• (Desirable) Knowledge of physical conditioning and off-court training relevant to Padel performance.
• (Desirable) Awareness of national and international Padel development pathways.

EXPERIENCE

• Experience of coaching Padel or another racket sport (e.g., tennis, squash, badminton).
• Track record of working with a range of abilities, from beginners to competitive players.
• Experience of delivering both group and individual coaching programmes.
• (Desirable) Experience with our Padel booking system MATCHi.
• (Desirable) Competitive playing experience in Padel or similar racket sports.
• (Desirable) Experience in organising or supporting tournaments, leagues, or events.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential:
• Padel coaching qualification recognised by the LTA or International Padel Federation (IPF).
• Safeguarding training (or willingness to complete prior to starting).
Desirable:
• Advanced padel coaching certification (e.g., LTA Padel Coach Level 2/3 or equivalent international qualification).
• Valid First Aid certificate.
• Tennis or other racket sport coaching qualification.
