About JORO

At JORO, we believe travel should change the way people see the world.

Since 2017, we've been creating extraordinary journeys for curious people who want to experience the world differently. Every itinerary is designed from scratch, built around the individual, and crafted with the same care whether it's a private yacht expedition in Antarctica, a family adventure across Africa or a once-in-a-lifetime celebration in the Himalayas.

Today, we work with private clients, family offices and global partners to design journeys that go far beyond the expected - from immersive cultural experiences to complex expeditions in some of the world's most remote places.

We're entering one of the most exciting periods in our history.

With a growing international client base and ambitious expansion into the United States, we're building the foundations for JORO's next chapter. Alongside this, we're strengthening our network of strategic partnerships that introduce our brand to exceptional new audiences.

At the heart of everything we do is a simple belief: travel should enrich lives.

Not only for the people who experience it, but for the people, communities and places that make those experiences possible.

We're a small team with ambitious standards, and our goal is simple: to become the world's most respected experiential travel company.

The Opportunity

JORO has reached the point where marketing is no longer about creating content.

It's about building one of the most respected brands in luxury experiential travel.

We're looking for a Head of Marketing who can take ownership of that challenge.

This is not a role for someone waiting to be told what to do. We're looking for someone who can define the strategy, gain buy-in from the board and then confidently lead its delivery.

You'll be responsible for shaping how JORO is seen around the world, developing meaningful partnerships, growing awareness within HNW and UHNW audiences and ensuring every touchpoint reflects the quality of the experiences we create.

While experience within luxury travel would be valuable, it isn't essential.

What matters is that you understand premium brands, appreciate the expectations of HNW and UHNW clients, and instinctively know how to build trust, desirability and long-term brand value.

You'll report directly to the Board, working closely with the founders to help define the next phase of JORO's growth.

This role will also oversee the recruitment and management of our future Marketing Assistant, while leading our wider creative and freelance marketing resource.

What You'll Be Doing

This is a strategic leadership role with plenty of opportunity to remain hands-on.

Some weeks you'll be developing long-term brand partnerships or refining the marketing strategy.

Others you'll be reviewing creative campaigns, overseeing an event, briefing PR support, planning social content or presenting performance to the Board.

You'll become deeply immersed in the JORO brand, spending time with our Travel Designers to understand our clients, our journeys and what genuinely makes us different.

You'll be trusted to make decisions, challenge ideas and continuously evolve the way JORO presents itself to the world.

Your Responsibilities

You'll take ownership of JORO's marketing strategy and brand development, including:

  • Acting as the guardian and ongoing custodian of the JORO brand, ensuring its evolution remains consistent with our purpose and ambitions.

  • Creating, delivering and continually refining JORO's strategic marketing plan.

  • Identifying, developing and managing strategic brand partnerships that generate new client opportunities.

  • Managing the annual marketing budget and measuring performance against agreed objectives.

  • Recruiting, mentoring and managing a Marketing Assistant as the team grows.

  • Managing internal creative resources and external freelance specialists where required.

  • Planning and managing PR activity and agency relationships as appropriate.

  • Planning and delivering events that strengthen the JORO brand and deepen client relationships.

  • Developing JORO's social media strategy and overseeing its execution.

  • Managing the ongoing development of the JORO website alongside our web development partners.

  • Identifying and managing submissions for relevant industry awards.

  • Reporting monthly to the Board on performance, activity and future priorities.

  • Working predominantly from our Marylebone office throughout the week.

The Kind of Person Who Thrives Here

We're looking for someone who combines strategic thinking with genuine curiosity and the ability to get things done.

You'll ideally bring:

  • Demonstrable experience building and managing premium brands (experience within travel is welcomed but not essential).

  • Proven success creating partnerships that generate revenue and introduce brands to new audiences.

  • Expertise in brand strategy and developing measurable marketing plans.

  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.

  • The ability to quickly understand complex products and immerse yourself in our world by working closely with our Travel Designers.

  • The confidence to work independently once strategic direction has been agreed.

  • A strong understanding of HNW and UHNW buying behaviours.

  • Experience across multiple marketing disciplines, including social media, PR and partnership marketing, with the ability to build relationships with premium media and journalists.

  • Experience working with international brands would be advantageous, particularly within the US market (languages are not required).

  • Proven experience managing teams, particularly creative professionals and external agencies.

  • The ability to communicate confidently with both internal teams and external partners.

  • The confidence to work directly with JORO's founders and Board, translating our vision into a compelling global brand.

  • A collaborative mindset suited to a close-knit, high-performing SME where everyone contributes.

  • Experience planning and delivering events.

Position Details

  • Full-time position based primarily from our Marylebone London office.

  • Reporting directly to the Board of Directors.

  • We are looking to appoint this role as soon as possible.

Why JORO?

This isn't a role where you'll inherit a mature marketing department with established processes and incremental targets.

You'll help define how one of the most ambitious brands in experiential travel grows over the next decade.

You'll build partnerships that open doors around the world, shape a brand that inspires trust among some of the world's most discerning travellers and play a meaningful role in the future of a business with global ambitions.

If building something exceptional excites you, we'd love to hear from you.

Benefits
