Job Summary
This key role will report to the CFO/COO and will be responsible for undertaking the day-to-day lead in all aspects of the Company’s financial and administrative operations. Also responsible for supervising an Accounts Assistant who is responsible for the ledger accounting.
A flexible working arrangement would be considered.

Key Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities will include those outlined below, and there will also be a need to carry out ad hoc activities, according to ongoing business requirements, and to support the CFO/COO on strategic and operational activities and projects.

Financial and Accounting
Management of all ledger accounting and the preparation of monthly management accounts and the financial reports to management team and external investors.

Production of payment reports and the operational management and overseeing of company bank accounts.

Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns and all subsequent VAT-related matters and reporting.

Managing our external payroll company, including the production of all related annual reports and ensuring accuracy and governance is maintained.

Responsible for leading on cashflow projections and treasury management.
Working closely with our tax advisors on all related tax matters which will include annual Research and Development Tax Credit claims.

The day-to-day running of annual audit and the production of statutory accounts, with input from our external accountants.

Managing the Company’s following financial systems;
·          Xero for accounting
·          Dext for expenses
·          ApprovalMax and Amici for purchasing and procurement

Proactive input into the company's annual Budget and ensuring that a regular reforecast process is in place.

Responsible for managing the ongoing Research and Development project cost tracking working closely with the Senior Leadership Team to align.

To develop and implement the appropriate financial, operational processes and controls as the business evolves and grows.

Operational

This role will be responsible for providing Company secretarial support as follows;
·          Companies House filings
·          Updating the Company’s VenturePro cap table system
·          Administration of the company share option schemes
           and employee tax guidelines

This role will also offer support and input to ongoing operational and administrative functions as listed;
·          ESG monitoring and reporting Insurance
·          Facilities and IT
·          Data Protection compliance
·          Liaising with HR Manager on administration of Company
            benefits

Minimum qualifications and experience required

Proven experience gained within financial controllership

Professional credibility to represent the Finance and Operations function with the Company both internally, externally and with partner organisations.

A recognised accounting qualification and/or significant practical experience.

Experience working cross functionally and in a corporate group structure (the Company is currently stand-alone)
