Purpose of the role:
LB Group is recruiting for a Financial Accountant to be based in either our Colchester or Ipswich office. The role will oversee all accounting relating activities for the Group, working with the Group Head of Finance, Finance Manager, Financial Assistants, and our Credit Controllers.

Accountabilities: 
As a Financial Accountant you will need to:
• Prepare financial reports on a monthly and annual basis using the company’s in-house financial systems.
• Monitor cash flow, accounts, and other financial transactions.
• Prepare all balance sheet recs and draft group vat returns.
• Seek out methods and practices to improve the efficiency of the finance function and recommend cost savings for the business where possible.
• P&L Cost centre reporting for management.

Support the GFM and GHOF as required in the following tasks:
• Variance analysis of the budgets for each office location and line of business.
• Company and wider group budgetary planning.
• Updating and implementing financial policies and procedures.
• Providing executive management with accurate and comprehensive financial information to guide effective policy making and financial strategising.
• Providing external auditors with the necessary documentation and support.
• Assist on integration and training.
• Other adhoc project work.

Skills/Qualifications: 
• You will hold an accounting qualification (ACCA / ACA etc) with a practical understanding of management accounting principles and techniques and a solid knowledge of standard accountancy and finance best practices.
• You will have strong IT skills, including proficiency in the relevant accounting packages and a natural understanding of tax codes and laws with analytical skills to effectively analyse financial reports. 
• An in-depth knowledge of budgeting and financial forecasting and proven experience in managing people is essential.
• Desirable that you have worked in a Professional Services background or practice trained.
