We’re supporting someone we work for to find someone special to join her small team. She needs some support with her personal care so prefers to her team to be female.

💬 Let me tell you a bit about me…
I live in Viewpark, Uddingston with my mum, who is a huge part of my life. Family means everything to me — especially after losing my dad last year.

People who know me best say I’m great company — funny, sociable and chatty once I feel comfortable. And they’re right… because there was a time when I was out and about all the time — seeing friends, going to college, travelling independently, enjoying life.

But life hasn’t  been easy more recently. A few difficult experiences knocked my confidence, and my dad’s passing hit me hard. It means I have become more reliant on my mum and less sure about being out in the world.

The good news though...that confident, sociable person is still there — and I’m ready to find her again. ✨

That’s where you come in.

🌟 What matters to me
Right now, I want to:
  • Feel safe, confident and more independent again
  • Get back to doing the things I love (and maybe try some new ones too!)
  • Spend time with people and rebuild friendships
  • Be part of my community again — not just watching from the sidelines
  • Have a life that feels like mine, not just something that happens at home

With the right support, I truly believe things can feel really different in a year's time

🧡 What I’m looking for in you
I don’t need someone to take over my life — I need someone to walk alongside me.

You’ll be the kind of person who:
  • Is calm, patient and reassuring
  • Understands that confidence takes time to rebuild
  • Can gently encourage me (without pressure or rushing me)
  • Builds trust — because feeling safe is really important to me
  • Knows when to step in… and when to step back

If you’re someone who celebrates small wins, enjoys meaningful conversations, and believes in people — we’ll get on brilliantly.

🚶‍♀️ What the role actually looks like
This isn’t a “routine support job” — it’s about helping me live my life again.

You’ll support me to:
  • 💬 Build my confidence step by step
  • 🏡 Take more control of things at home and build my independence
  • 🌍 Get out and about — even when it feels a bit scary at first
  • 🎨 Reconnect with activities I enjoy (and explore new ones too)
  • ☕ Visit places, meet people, and rebuild friendships
  • 💛 Manage my health and wellbeing
  • 🧠 Work through worries and anxieties with understanding and patience

Some days might be about heading out for a coffee or activity...other days might be about staying in, building confidence slowly. Both matter.

🕒 The practical bits

  • I have someone working for me five days a week, Most weeks I like to have a couple of days where I don't have any paid support.  I change these two days about so that I sometimes have my paid support at the weekend, but this isn't just out of the blue so you will get lots of warning.
  • I am looking for someone to work for me 25hrs in a fortnight, usually over 5 days
  • I used to like having a few short breaks away without my mum and hope to get back there at someone point. I need to be supported by one of my team when I do this. I will give you plenty of notice, but you would need to be able to leave your other commitments behind for a couple of days from time to time.
  • I don't like being supported by strangers, so my remaining team all work a bit extra when one of the team is off work for some reason.
  • Your working day usually starts and finishes at my house
