About the role
No Code is looking for a mid to senior-level Environment Artist to work with the team on a six month contract on the highly anticipated Silent Hill: Townfall project.
The ideal candidate is someone who has a love of creating realistic contemporary environments and finding innovative ways to do complex and creative work quickly.
As an Environment Artist on this project, you will take ownership of whole areas of the environment, creating an immersive and atmospheric space for gameplay to take place. You will work directly with the Lead Environment Artist and wider development team to ensure that art, narrative, and action all work together in harmony. You will work with the usual software packages, but also directly in engine for layout/set-dressing and structure work in Unreal Engine 5
Please note we will not sponsor right-to-work visas for this role due to the length of the contract.

What you will do
Working with a small but highly collaborative team on a title already in development, you will create high-quality props, materials, surfaces, structures, and anything in between. The team are tackling newer technologies head-on, utilising nanite, Lumen and UE5 blueprints to help make large, complex spaces quicker and easier with our relatively small team.
The role is perfect for artists who enjoy varied work, problem-solving solutions, and true ownership of their work, whilst working together as a passionate team to create fantastic award-winning games.
As with all roles at No Code, the workload is varied and never repetitive!
What you will bring
Must have:
- The ability to create top-quality environment assets, props and textures that both look great and perform well on PC and consoles.
- Good artistic eye for composition, and solid understanding of structure and form.
- Able to be proactive with tasks and work autonomously.
- Able to work to production schedules and time estimates and offer solutions when they cannot be met.
- Experience with Unreal Engine 5 game development pipelines.
- Ability to collaborate easily with others, especially with those from other disciplines.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal with a positive teamwork ethic.
- Experience or clear understanding of the full game development cycle for PC or Console.
Knowledge of:
- Blender and/or 3DS Max for modelling
- Substance Painter / Designer for material development
- Unreal Engine 5 asset placement and set dressing
Nice to have:
- Experience with procedural workflows such as UE5 construction script, geometry scripts, and similar tools.
- Appreciation for horror in Games, TV and film.
- Familiarity with the Silent Hill franchise.
