Witton Lodge Community Association is looking for a motivated and passionate Employment and Skills Advisor to join our Youth Trailblazer programme. You will support young people across Erdington, Perry Barr and Sutton Coldfield to move confidently into positive and sustained outcomes including employment, apprenticeships, training or education.

This is a practical, community-based role for someone who can build trust, unlock potential and keep young people moving forward—even when the path is not straightforward.

What you’ll do

· Provide one-to-one coaching and group support, including CVs, applications, interview preparation and workplace skills.

· Build strong relationships with employers, Jobcentre Plus, colleges, training providers and community partners.

· Maintain accurate, audit-ready records while meeting safeguarding, quality and programme requirements.

What you’ll bring

· Experience of helping unemployed or economically inactive people progress into work, education or training.

· Strong coaching and communication skills, with the empathy and resilience to motivate young people facing barriers.

· The ability to manage a busy caseload, meet targets, work flexibly and maintain high-quality electronic records.

· A sound understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and data protection.
