We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electronic Engineer to join our engineering team. This role involves the design, development, testing, and validation of advanced electronic systems, with a particular focus on battery management systems (BMS), power electronics, and embedded control solutions.
You will contribute across the full product lifecycle, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust, compliant, and high-performance solutions.
Key functions:
· Design and develop electronic circuits and systems, including analogue, digital, and power electronics
· Develop and optimise battery management systems (BMS) and associated control electronics
· Produce schematic designs and PCB layouts using industry-standard CAD tools
· Conduct simulation, analysis, and validation of electronic designs
· Support prototype builds, testing, and debugging activities
· Generate and maintain technical documentation (design specs, test procedures, reports)
· Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g. IEC, ISO, defence standards where applicable)
· Collaborate with software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to ensure integrated system performance
· Support design reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives
Essential Skills & Experience
· 3+ years of experience within an electronics business
· Degree in Electronic Engineering or a closely related discipline
· Proven experience in electronic design (analogue, digital, or power electronics)
· Strong understanding of circuit design, component selection, and system integration
· Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g. Altium, OrCAD, KiCad)
· Familiarity with test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators)
· Knowledge of embedded systems and microcontroller-based design
· Ability to troubleshoot and debug complex electronic systems
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Effective communication and teamwork abilities
Desirable Skills & Experience
· Experience with battery technologies and battery management systems
· Knowledge of safety-critical or regulated environments (defence, aerospace, medical)
· Experience with EMC/EMI design and testing
· Familiarity with embedded C/C++ or firmware development
· Understanding of functional safety standards (e.g. IEC 61508)
· Experience with environmental testing and ruggedised system design

Full time hours of work Monday - Friday 8am – 5pm, Friday 8am to 12.30pm
