We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Education Implementation and Programmes Lead to join our team. 
This role is pivotal in ensuring the quality and effectiveness of our educational support for young people (YPs) within residential homes. As part of the education team, you will be responsible for a range of duties aimed at enhancing the learning experiences and outcomes for the YPs, while also supporting the mentors, home managers, and other staff members.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Assurance: Oversee and ensure the quality of mentors' weekly reports, session plans, and monthly review inputs, ensuring they meet our educational standards and are in line with the needs of the YPs.
  • Session Plan Development: Write comprehensive and tailored session plans for the ASDAN courses we offer, ensuring they align with each YP’s goals and needs, and adhere to the curriculum.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyse data related to the progress of the YPs, creating clear and informative graphs to track achievements and areas for improvement.
  • Point of Contact for Educational Advice: Serve as the primary point of contact for all education-related queries from mentors, home managers, and extended authorities, including the YPs' virtual school contacts.
  • PEP Meetings: Attend and actively participate in Pupil Education Plan (PEP) meetings, contributing educational insights and ensuring that each YP’s educational needs are being met.
  • Baseline Assessments: Conduct baseline assessments for new YPs, setting achievable goals based on their individual needs, and determining the best support strategies for their educational journey.
  • Lead on R.E.A.L. Monthly Reviews: Take the initial information from the mentors, home managers, clinical team and put together the document to a high standard.
  • Moderation of ASDAN Coursework: Regularly moderate ASDAN coursework to ensure it meets the required standards, providing constructive feedback to mentors.
  • External Moderation Meetings: Attend external moderation meetings to ensure that ASDAN coursework is up to the required national standards and to share best practices with other institutions.
  • Cambian Embrace Meetings: Attend monthly Cambian Embrace meetings alongside the home managers to collaborate on best practices and improve the educational experiences within the homes.
  • Resource Development: Resource and provide worksheets, examples, and materials for mentors to support the delivery of educational content to the YPs.
  • Incorporate Educational Links into L.I.F.E. Sessions: Work closely with mentors to integrate relevant educational links into the L.I.F.E. sessions and activities, ensuring they complement formal learning.
  • Support Formal Education: Provide additional support to YPs alongside their formal education, including working with tutors, colleges, and schools to ensure a holistic educational experience.
  • Workshops and Training: Provide workshops and training for mentors on how to complete education-related documentation, ensuring that all reports, session plans, and reviews are accurately and consistently completed.
 

Collaboration with Other Team Members:

  • Curriculum Lead: Work alongside the curriculum lead to ensure that ASDAN coursework is delivered effectively, evidenced appropriately, and completed to a high standard.
  • Mentor and Home Staff Support: Provide guidance and support to mentors and home staff in the implementation and delivery of ASDAN courses, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary resources and knowledge.
  • Education Consultant on RLE advisory board: Any queries you are unsure of, you can seek further advice from the Education Specialist on the Advisory Board.
  • Additional Educational Courses: Seek out and explore additional educational courses (both accredited and non-accredited) to enhance the learning opportunities for YPs.
  • Vocational Employment Support: Investigate and present additional vocational course options and identify potential employment opportunities for YPs as part of their progression towards independence.
 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Educational Qualifications: A recognised qualification in education, such as a Level 3 or Level 4 Teaching Assistant qualification or a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education). A Degree in Education or a related field would be highly desirable.
  • Specialist Qualifications: Relevant training or qualifications in working with young people, would be beneficial.
  • Experience in Education or Residential Settings: Proven experience working within an educational or residential setting, particularly with young people who may have complex needs.
  • Moderation Experience: Previous experience in moderating coursework, particularly in programmes such as ASDAN, would be advantageous.
  • Data Management Skills: Strong experience in data collection, analysis, and the ability to create reports or graphs to track progress.
  • CPD and Professional Development: A commitment to continuous professional development (CPD), with a willingness to undertake further training in areas such as safeguarding, child protection, and educational methodologies.
  • Other Skills:
    Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including mentors, home managers, external authorities, and schools.
  •  Ability to manage a diverse range of tasks simultaneously and prioritise effectively.
  •  Knowledge of the national curriculum and its application in alternative education settings.
  •  Competent with Office 365 Shared Drive; able to understand and work with it comfortably. Moving folders around and editing the documents uploaded.

You will have excellent organisational and communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders, and a strong understanding of educational standards and frameworks.
