Are you a college student passionate about early childhood education and seeking valuable hands-on experience? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Work Placement Intern!

We are seeking enthusiastic, motivated, talented people who want to work in the education sector. We are seeking apprentices who are working towards becoming a Early Years practitioner and who could potentially become a part of our continued growth and success. This is a fantastic opportunity to work, study and gain knowledge in a state-of-the-art brand-new Montessori setting and work with talented practitioners. 

We are looking for apprentices who have a passion and drive for providing high quality care and education for children from three months to five years. You will become an excellent team player and role model to all staff and children.

Purpose of the Role and Responsibilities

The role of the Early Years Work Placement worker is to shadow skilled practitioners to ensure that all children attending Play Studio Montessori Nursery receive high quality teaching and care, are kept safe from harm and are provided with planned and stimulating play experiences which meet their individual needs and support all aspects of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Montessori curriculum.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist practitioners in preparing and implementing educational activities and materials.
  • Support children in their daily routines, fostering independence and self-esteem.
  • Engage with children through play, exploration, and creative activities.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with staff and parents to ensure each child's individual needs are met.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a college program related to early childhood education, child development, or a related field.
  • Genuine passion for working with young children and fostering their growth and development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Reliable, responsible, and punctual.
  • To be aware of the high profile of the nursery and to always uphold its standards, both within work hours and outside

Your initial placement is conditional upon the provision of a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Certificate of a level appropriate to your post. 

Proof of identity is required, and you will be required to consent to subsequent criminal record checks from time to time during your employment as deemed appropriate by the Company. In the event that such certificate(s) are not supplied your employment with us will be terminated. This job is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, due to the nature of the role which involve working with children and vulnerable people.

Candidate Education
  • To be qualified to start a level 2 or 3 qualification in Early Years Workforce or equivalent
  • Educated to minimum GCSE level with passes in four or more subjects two of which are English and Maths
  • Fluency in written and spoken English



Candidate Experience
  • Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and Ofsted statutory guidance.
  • Knowledge of implementing good quality learning
  • Experience of working/ studying in a culturally diverse setting
  • Recent experience working in a Preschool /Nursery setting
  • Understanding of the Montessori Pedagogy
