PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVES
To manage community fundraising for Pace, ensuring appropriate coordination across different fundraising activities and delivering agreed annual income targets.
We are working with the Events and Community Manager to develop annual plans and budgets for all community fundraising.
To implement a stewardship programme to engage groups and individual donors as repeat supporters.
To research, identify and recommend new potential relationships or other opportunities for Pace to increase fundraising income.
To recruit and manage community volunteers and work with the Fundraising Assistant to ensure excellent relationships with volunteers and donors.
To across the organisation to deliver an annual programme of regular Visitor’s Mornings at Pace, promoting them to supporters and members of the local community.
To represent Pace during appropriate presentations, events, meetings and networking opportunities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
FUNDRAISING
Research and manage a pipeline of opportunities for community groups, churches, schools and individuals and enthuse them to donate or fundraise for Pace.
Engage community supporters through face to face meetings, presentations and phone calls to inspire them to participate in fundraising activities
Provide support, advice and resources to community supporters to ensure they have the resources to maximise their fundraising for Pace.
Deliver presentations attend meetings and events as part of the relationship management programme.
Communicate impact, share updates and engage supporters in non-financial activities to strengthen their relationship with Pace.
Run social events to engage individual and community group supporters.
STEWARDSHIP
Contribute to the fundraising team’s effective and excellent stewardship of donors.
Deliver timely and personalised thank you letters for all donations received from community donors.
Deliver effective and timely pre and post-engagement communications.
Follow up on and deliver actions discussed during meetings.
Plan and deliver appropriate supporter journeys to steward supporters to increase their lifetime value through superior supporter care that exceeds their expectations.
Identify and establish new relationships by researching and capitalising on donor networks.
Engage with and regularly report to supporters.
Ensure Pace meets the requirement of any donation, including offering supporter visits, PR and updates
DATABASE
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of relevant supporter communications.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of opportunities, relationships and contacts
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of pledges, donations, volunteering, gifts in kind and acknowledgements.
ADMINISTRATION
Produce reports and other information for the Events and Community Manager and Director of Fundraising.
Follow up enquiries, meetings, and presentations and check on progress to monitor outcomes.
Work closely and effectively with the fundraising teams to gather and collate information that enhances Pace’s case for support reports and ensure that opportunities are not missed.
FINANCE
Working with the Events and Community Manager, contribute to budget preparations by providing supporter target lists and anticipated income
Liaise with the Finance Department to ensure that all donations are acknowledged and coded correctly.
RELATIONSHIPS
Work to build good relationships with donors and provide an excellent level of supporter care.
Establish and maintain high-quality relationships across the depth and breadth of the organisation.
OTHER
A willingness to travel and work flexibly in line with supporters’ requirements (flexible working hours are essential for this role).
Operate within Charity Law, Data Protection Law and adhere to the Code of Fundraising Practice.
Experience - Minimum one year of experience in community fundraising with a proven track record of relationship fundraising. Use of a customer relationship database.
Skills and abilities - Emotionally intelligent with strong empathetic and social skills to relate to various people and develop effective networks. A positive can-do attitude with the ability to deliver excellent work under time pressure. Confident, cheerful with a friendly disposition and able to work as part of a team. Sensitivity when dealing with donors and families with children with motor disorders. A flexible and positive attitude to work.
Knowledge - Awareness of and insight into the external environment of the charity and particular education sectors. Understanding of Data Protection Law
