About the business
This role sits within B‑Engineering Group, a well-established B-Corp certified building services business with over 35 years of trading history.

The company delivers commercial heating and gas services across a broad client base including:

  • Schools and university accommodation
  • Public buildings and offices
  • Factories, warehouses, and industrial sites
  • Residential and managed properties

Continued, steady growth has created the need for an additional Commercial Gas Engineer to join a close-knit team of 10 experienced engineers. The majority of work is based across the North West, with realistic travel expectations and no national travel.

The role
This is a hands-on, senior engineering position focused on quality, safety, and professionalism.

You’ll be responsible for:
  • Planned preventative maintenance of commercial heating and hot water systems
  • Fault diagnosis and repair of boilers, burners, water heaters, and associated plant
  • Reactive repairs and breakdowns as part of a 1-in-7 on-call rota
  • Working independently on site, representing the business professionally with clients
  • Adhering to RAMS and site-specific health & safety requirements

This is not a numbers-driven role. Engineers are trusted to do the job properly, with the backing of a supportive technical and operational team.

What we’re looking for:
Essential:
  • Commercial gas qualifications (COCN1, ICPN1, CIGA1, CDGA1 or equivalent)
  • NVQ Level 2 & 3 or City & Guilds
  • Gas Safe registered (minimum 2 years preferred)
  • Full UK driving licence (held for at least 12 months)
  • Minimum 4 years’ commercial gas experience

Experience with:
  • Diagnosis and repair of commercial boilers and burners
  • Gas-fired water heaters, warm air and radiant heaters
  • Working independently without supervision

Desirable (not essential):
  • LPG, OFTEC, IPAF, PASMA
  • Experience with oil systems

You’ll be someone who communicates well, takes pride in your work, and is open to further training and development.

Why this role?
This is a strong opportunity for a commercially experienced engineer who wants:
  • Consistent work with reputable clients
  • A business that values standards over shortcuts
  • Long-term security, not constant churn
  • Proper earning potential without being run into the ground
