Due to continued growth, we are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Electrical Fitter / Commercial Electrician to join our expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified industrial/commercial electrician with a Level 3 electrical qualification and valid ECS accreditation to work on varied and challenging electrical infrastructure projects across the UK.

Working under the supervision of Senior Authorised Persons (SAPs), the successful candidate will support the delivery of substation installations and a range of related electrical activities, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards. The role is ideally suited to someone centrally based, willing to travel nationwide, and motivated to make a positive contribution to both the team and the wider business.

This position plays an important role in strengthening our operational capability, reducing reliance on subcontractors, and supporting the safe, compliant, and high-quality delivery of electrical infrastructure projects for our clients nationwide.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Assist SAPs with electrical and substation-related activities.
  • Carry out electrical installation work safely and in accordance with industry standards and company procedures.
  • Install cable containment systems including tray, ladder, trunking and conduit.
  • Install, gland and terminate power and control cables.
  • Install earthing systems for substations and associated infrastructure.
  • Install protection and control panels, marshalling kiosks and associated equipment.
  • Carry out LVAC, lighting and small power installations.
  • Support commissioning and energisation activities.
  • Assist with fault-finding and electrical testing activities.
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship, professionalism and housekeeping.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, clients and project stakeholders.
  • Travel as required to sites across the UK.

Essential Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Level 3 Electrical Qualification.
  • ECS Card.
  • Experience within commercial and/or industrial electrical installations.
  • Good understanding of electrical installation practices and current industry standards.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Willingness to travel nationwide and work away from home when required.
  • Strong commitment to health, safety and quality.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team.

Desirable Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience working on HV/LV substations.
  • Earthing installation experience.
  • Experience installing protection and control panels.
  • Experience with cable containment systems.
  • Experience glanding and terminating multicore power and control cables.
  • Experience working with DNOs, IDNOs or ICP organisations.
  • ECS Gold Card.
  • IPAF.
  • PASMA.
  • First Aid at Work.

Candidates with experience as Electrical Fitters, Industrial Electricians, Substation Electricians or Infrastructure Electricians are encouraged to apply.
