Magnetic Shields Limited is the global leader in the design and manufacture of magnetic shielding products and shielded rooms across a variety of sectors and industries. Our continued growth and ongoing investment mean we now have a brand-new factory unit which will double our production capacity and throughput. This period of expansion is a very exciting time for the Company and we are keen to speak to applicants interested in joining our production team in an experienced CNC Machinist.
About the role:
- The candidate will work within our toolroom department operating our CNC controlled lathes and 2 mills to generate components required for tooling or directly by our customers
- Most components are designed in-house and will require the successful candidate to use the 3D model to generate the machining code within Inventor CAM software, which feeds directly into the machines.
- You will also, in collaboration with our design department, aid the design of any fixturing or jigs that may be required to allow machining of the components
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years experience within machining environment
- Have experience of Heidenhain controllers
- Produce small, complex batches of components to high quality standards
- Experience of working from engineering drawings
- Ability to work within a team to ensure deadlines are met
Desirable Skills:
- Be familiar with LEAN/5S Principles
- Have experience in Inventor CAM or similar software
- Experience of design and manufacture of machine fixturing
- Experience of sliding head lathes would be advantageous
- Experience of working within ISO9001 quality system
