With expertise in control systems, power electronics, energy storage, and electric powertrain integration, Lorillion supports various sectors including automotive, marine, aerospace, and energy storage. <br><br>The Chief Programme Engineer will provide technical leadership and strategic direction for all engineering delivery activities on a programme, ensuring all engineering deliverables meet quality, cost, and delivery objectives.<br><br></div><div>Key Responsibilities<br><br></div><div>• Provide overall technical leadership for programme delivery, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and company standards.<br><br></div><div>• Lead and coordinate complex multidisciplinary projects, integrating systems, electrical, software, and mechanical domains.<br><br></div><div>• Collaborate with Project Management to align technical and project execution plans.<br><br></div><div>• Serve as the primary technical interface to customers, owning technical requirements, scope discussions, and deliverables.<br><br></div><div>• Guide the development and delivery of high-integrity, software-intensive systems.<br><br></div><div>• Mentor and lead the engineering team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.<br><br></div><div>• Assess and mitigate technical risks across the programme lifecycle.<br><br></div><div>• Oversee the preparation and control of all technical documentation in line with quality system requirements.<br><br></div><div>• Support proposal development and business development activities with technical input.<br><br></div><div>• Drive process improvement initiatives to increase engineering effectiveness and quality.<br><br></div><div>• Promote Environmental Health & Safety awareness across all activities.<br><br></div><div>Qualifications, Experience and Skills Required:<br><br></div><div>Essential:<br><br></div><div>• Degree (or equivalent experience) in an engineering discipline.<br><br></div><div>• Demonstrable experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams in the development of high-integrity, software-intensive systems.<br><br></div><div>• Strong familiarity with software and systems engineering workflows, even if not from a software engineering background.<br><br></div><div>• Proven ability to lead technically complex product development activities to delivery.<br><br></div><div>• Experience with system design, electronics, and embedded control systems.<br><br></div><div>• Familiarity with safety-critical or regulated domains (e.g. automotive, aerospace, marine, energy).<br><br></div><div>• Skilled in the use of requirements management tools and familiar with APQP and ASPICE.<br><br></div><div>• Excellent communication skills with a track record of managing technical customer relationships.<br><br></div><div>• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; capable of handling multiple priorities.<br><br></div><div>Desirable:<br><br></div><div>• Experience in the development of battery management systems (BMS).<br><br></div><div>• Background in managing the development and introduction of multiple products within a product family or platform.<br><br></div><div>Personal Attributes<br><br></div><div>• Proactive, driven, and outcome-focused.<br><br></div><div>• Collaborative team player with strong leadership presence.<br><br></div><div>• Adaptable to changing requirements and capable of finding practical solutions.<br><br></div><div>• Willing to engage directly in engineering tasks where required to achieve programme success.<br><br></div><div>• Effective communicator, both written and verbal, across technical and non-technical audiences.<br><br></div><div><br><br></div><div>Location and Travel:<br><br></div><div>• You must be eligible to work in the UK and have no restrictions for world-wide travel.<br><br></div><div>• This role is based at our Head Office in the Midlands, with flexibility for remote working.<br><br></div><div>• Working hours are 0900 to 1700, including 30-minute paid break 5 days a week, however frequent travel is expected, and flexible working patterns are essential to the role.<br><br></div>
