Details
The main purpose of this role is to support individuals experiencing difficulties in their lives to address the challenges they face and to do this using the natural environment as a setting and a resource. You will be working with vulnerable adults, children and young people, either in small groups or on a one-to-one basis. You will work with participants to achieve person-centred appropriate goals and liaise with your colleagues and partner organisations as part of their progression. You will need to be patient, positive, culturally smart and able to motivate and encourage. You will be working as part of a wider delivery team and there will be variety in the role, due to the number of different groups and participants we work with. You will be expected to assist lead tutors to deliver group sessions. This is a physically active role within an outdoor setting all year round.

Person Specification:
 
We are looking for someone with the following knowledge, skills and experience:
 
Essential Experience and Knowledge
·        Experience of working with groups of marginalised and vulnerable adults and young people 
·        Experience of supporting groups in an outdoor or educational setting
·        Working with people with additional or/and special educational needs
·        Working with people who exhibit challenging behaviours
·        Maintaining good relationships with partner organisations and the wider community
 
Essential Skills 
·        Excellent communication and presentation skills, both oral and written
·        Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt your approach and style 
·        Creative thinker, with proven problem-solving skills 
·        Strong team player
·        Proven general ICT skills
 
Desirable
·        Supporting person-centred learning and personal development programmes for groups and individuals
·        Practical experience within the natural environment (e.g. conservation, woodland management, bushcraft, green woodworking or outdoor education)
·        A working knowledge of Forest School delivery  
·        A teaching qualification (PTTLS, CTTLLS, DTTLLS or higher) 
·        Health and Safety/First Aid trained 
·        Experience working with diverse communities
·        Experience of compiling information and reports
·        Mental health awareness 
 
 
 
 
As part of this role you will work across all Green Light Trust programmes including Adult Mental Health, Step-By-Step (SEND), Natural Alternative (children and young people) and EHCP (bespoke educational provision for 16-25 yr old’s).

Other details
 
 Your base will be Castan Wood, Martlesham, but you will need to be flexible and able to travel when required. 
 
DBS Fully Enhanced DBS will be required in the event of a successful application, as you will be in contact with vulnerable adults and children.
