Who We Are: The Center for Countering Digital Hate counters hate and disinformation by disrupting the online architecture enabling its rapid worldwide growth.

The work of the Center is carried out by two organizations, which operate collaboratively in carrying out their shared mission. CCDH US is a US nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation headquartered in Washington, DC, and CCDH UK is a UK nonprofit company headquartered in London.

The Center for Countering Digital Hate counters digital hate and misinformation. Our work on anti-vaxxers, racism, anti-LGBTQ+ hatred, and election misinformation has had an enormous impact, gaining attention in our first two years of operations from the press, politicians, celebrities, and even the President.

Role Description: The Campaigns and Communications  Coordinator will work within the Campaigns and Communications department supporting the team's work. 

This Role will generally support functions across Digital, Press, and Campaigns. 

Reporting to the Digital Communications Manager, your time will primarily focus on supporting the Center's digital communications and campaigns across social media, email, and digital mobilization. You will also support the Press team and more comprehensive campaign functions as needed. 

At CCDH, we believe in career progression, so we will provide on-the-job training within the team or with a generous personal training budget of £2,500 a year.

We are looking for a creative, digitally savvy person who can help bring our campaigns and communications to life and make them accessible to everyone. University education is not required. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Digital Communications Manager to implement our multi-channel digital communications growth strategy year-round. 
  • Supporting the creation and management of communications, including social media, website, and email.
  • Work with the Digital Communications Manager to plan a proactive content schedule across our channels. 
  • Supporting the production and management of digital campaigns.
  • Liaising with our researchers over how best to digitally present CCDH’s work.
  • Work with the Digital Communications Manager and Campaigns Manager to build user journeys to mobilize supporters.
  • Scheduling content across our digital channels.
  • Using our CRM and CMS to publish content, build pages to drive engagement and action, and inform the public.
  • Work with the broader team to monitor the news and social media for opportunities to promote our work. 
  • Support the Digital Communications Manager with monthly digital performance reports.
  • Work with the press team and Campaigns Manager to help track and record success and impact.
  • Working with colleagues working on Stakeholder campaigns to drive impact within coalitions.
  • Helping to run and manage the public email inboxes, responding to general requests and supporters.
  • Working with colleagues to plan and execute CCDH's campaigns.
  • Occasionally supporting the press team on busy days by coordinating incoming requests.
  • Undertake any other duties as required by the organization's management.
  • Continually develop your skills and knowledge to support the organization.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills/Abilities
  • Good oral and written communication skills, with attention to detail.
  • A creative communicator who can help make our issues accessible and memorable to the public.
  • Experience working with social media platforms.
  • Experience with Social Media Management tools such as Sprout Social or similar.
  • Experience with monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on social media performance.
  • Experience with platforms like WordPress (or similar CMS) and/or Engaging Networks (or equivalent CRM).
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite or tools like Canva to produce multimedia content such as social media graphics or trim video clips.
  • Experience with paid social media advertising.
  • Knowledge of digital fundraising.
  • Strong attention to detail and self-motivated.
  • Excellent organizational skills with an ability to adhere to tight deadlines and problem-solve.
  • A can-do attitude - we often work to breaking news or events and must move quickly to meet changing deadlines. 
  • A self-starter who can work effectively in teams and has drive and enthusiasm.
