Role Introduction
We are looking for a dynamic and fast thinking Cafe Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion customer service, with a strong understanding of managing a team in a fast paced food and beverage setting.
This role involves supporting us with the growth of our South Ridge Cafe and the full F&B offering within the centre, managing a large team of Barista's, Chef's, Party Hosts and Cafe Assistants. You must be a team player and willing to get involved in all tasks, whilst supporting your team and providing a positive working environment and upholding our brand standards throughout.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day running of our South Ridge Cafe
- Carrying out daily, weekly and monthly checks within the café
- Ensuring the safe running of the café in accordance with risk assessments, operating procedures and local authority guidance/laws
- Maintain high cleaning standards throughout the café front of house and kitchen/storage areas
- Working in conjunction with the management team to review and improve policies, procedures and systems.
- Team leadership, providing ongoing management, coaching and development and monitoring team and individual performance
- Ensure successful implementation of, and adherence to all Centre policies and procedures
- Assist with scheduling and rota management of the café team.
- Help to increase sales by upselling products where possible
- Fulfill key holder duties
- Complete opening and closing procedures as required
- Handle and prepare our full range of food and drink items from our menu
- Accept deliveries and ensure discrepancies are escalated to the Duty Manager in a timely manner
- Liaise with the management team to ensure all parties and group bookings are catered for promptly and correctly
- Ensure that the allergen guidance is kept updated on a regular basis and that all team are made aware of any changes

- Willingness to be flexible and take on other duties in the centre
- Strong knowledge and experience of operations
- Excellent customer service skills
- Proficient in MS office suite ie. Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Excellent written and spoken (face to face and phone) communication skills
- Excellent numeracy skills.
- Able to manage a varied workload, balancing scheduled tasks with requests for assistance from the team, which may have short deadlines
- Able to be flexible with the needs of the business
- Must be able to work weekends and school/public holidays
- Experience in implementing health and safety procedures
- Experience in food handling and preparation
- Experience of creating barista style drinks
- At least 2 years experience within a fast paced café/restaurant environment.
- First Aid at Work Certificate (desirable)
- Level 2 or 3 Food Hygiene Certificate (desirable - qualification can be obtained within the company)
